This is my billionth life cycle.
Rain Cyrax 417 1 bar w/ meter drain and safe jump ender:
f21xxbf1 cancel b3xxback r1, dash up (have time for 4 portals) 21xxdb1EX j243 r1 f2 j142

Would love to know what the Cyrax forward throw optimal is, I'm getting 254 with safe jump ender for:
EX forward throw j243 r1 f2 j142


This team feels pretty viable, looping safe jump situations into launching strike throw 50/50s using the j32 OS is pretty sick. Off of a safe jump, they need to either armor or guess between forward throw into launch, back throw into launch, or 211 which can be confirmed into launch with a dash cancel 11. We build ridiculous amounts of meter, and are constantly sucking meter away to limit armor and breakers.

I think I found the new optimal off of meterless f21 / b3 cancels mid screen with Janet. Rain god combos from b3 are not easy but definitely worth practicing, leads to absolutely nutty damage and I'm generally surprised most people including the top Rain players aren't using them.

Meterless no kameo optimal mid screen for f21, I can't find an actual consistent b3 combo that works at all distances and outdamages the non-rain god optimal. The same route works for b3 but requires you to be initiating the first b3 really close to the opponent.

Edit: you can actually connect jump ins at really strict timings and closest range, need to look into it more

mid screen: f21/b3 bf1 cancel b3xxrain god, forward dash b3xxfreeze, micro backdash bf1 full charge, ji243 1xxdb3
corner: f21/b3 bf1 cancel b3xxrain god, f21xxfreeze, bf1 full charge, j32 s1xxdb3

People really hate holding block on wakeup in this game, and Rain's meaty options don't seem stellar, so I've been occasionally ending my Janet combos (1x then 3x Janet routes) or sub zero freezes with bf1 full charge into whirlpool. Don't go for the htb since its pretty much fake, whole point of this is to guarantee 2% chip and oki, armor breaking if you time things right. You are pretty much guaranteed 114 bf1 cancel for plus frames, and the guaranteed chip basically makes up for any combo damage that you had forgone. With Janet, whirlpool + 114 chip will likely do more damage than any ender like j142 since she scales so much now.

Not sure how I'm just finding these now since they're really simple but these are new optimals that I haven't seen anyone do for Fatal blow / general kameo-less conversions. db3f enders put them basically full screen, so I can still see using the j243 route when you want oki.
