Gaps in strings don't need fixing and are not a big deal people, specially not when the hit prior to the gap is safe (or in this case plus)

you can either bait and punish or use armor of your own to beat theirs.

fixing implies that there is something wrong to begin with

Which hit prior to the gap is safe? you mean 1?
what if you dont have 1 bar or you cant afford it, then you shouldnt use your fastest string! (i tought this variation was more about meele combat, enlighten me otherwise)

Quan's low starter has 2 gaps in every variation. Buff Quan.
this is not a low or overheard starter! this is just high, mid, mid!
if quan 12 or F21 was like this i would accept this

A punishable punish string... Not sure about my feelings on this one.

lets say we agree about that, what string that is safe and fast this variation based on meele combat has? his regular 43 is high, mid. mid 13 frames start up but -11 on block!

Either way, I wouldn't get your hopes up. The "normalization" cycle is about as consistent as pissing through a screen door.

There is so much more to fix (not buff) with Kenshi....

But being honest - many characters have the same problem.

tell me one character in this game that is based on meele combat and doesnt have a fast safe 2 hit string (let alone high or overhead starter)
this is absurd

Most characters have gaps in some of their strings....
Most people cannot react to an 8 frame high and punish what comes after...
This is not a real problem, and I'm surprised you think it is.
most character at least have a fast 2 hit safe string that cant be armored between
i can react to this with follow up, peace of cake, anyone that played this game can do it.
its real as it can get, problem.

Post a 'Fix my character' thread to masquerade a 'Please buff my character' :DOGE
Have some respect for yourself at least if you dont have for others

there is nothing to fix, this is simply not a true blockstring. on the plus side show me one person who successfully reacted to 111 and armored through it. there are strings that are slow and there are strings that are fast. it is possible to react and armor through slow strings (ermac's f21d2) but this 111 of kenshi's is a fast one. in combat situation its almost impossible to react to.

MKX is played at 60 frames per second. Kenshi's standing 1 has a 10 frame start up.

That means that it takes 10/60 seconds to start: in other words 0.16666666666 seconds.

The average human reaction speed is ~.257 seconds in a simple reaction test. (http://www.humanbenchmark.com/tests/reactiontime/statistics)

MKX doesn't mimic a simple reaction test and according to the kenjutsu combo thread (http://testyourmight.com/threads/kenshis-kenjutsu-living-guide-updated-7-10-15.53431/) there are 8 different viable strings off of which you can start combos and achieve reasonable damage. This would most closely mirror the choice reaction time tests for reaction speed as it is not simply yes/no, but it is what did he do, now I need to react to it.

Because I'm not trying to write a dissertation on this insane troll-bait of a thread, it can be safely assumed that in a complex reaction test such as a neutral situation between kenjutsu and his opponent, there is no way anyone can ever REACT reliably to a 10 frame start up and input their start up string.

Interesting reading of the topic would include the Jensen Box tests: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jensen_box and an application of Hick's Law: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hick's_law.

Literally impossible to reliably get this on reaction. Holes in strings are a reality of this game and as multiple people have pointed out, other characters have the same problem as this.

I repeat, this is not a real problem and I am amazed that you think that it is.

its not 111, its 11 !!! that is the problem, and its not impossible to react to.

Then what is kenjutsu fast safe move, if its not this?
Not every punish string should be safe. If you punish too late, you should be punished for it, but gaps is a different story. You can gimmick yourself out of an unsafe string here and there, but armoring gaps wins 100% of the time at the highest level.

If you think Kenshi in Kenjutsu is a meele combat type character then you're playing him wrong. Kenjutsu is a blend of melee and zoning with some nice spacing tools - high risk / decent reward with vortex if your execution is on point but he's not Cassie Cage or Raiden or any other total rushdown / corner carry character .

And there is no point in comparing to other characters, really. Kenshi is ok but nothing more, there is atleast 10 better characters then him some doing almost everything he does but better.

Gap was intended, there is nothing to fix here. On the other hand some of his strings whiff randomly and thats a problem in need of a fix.

there isnt much footage of kenjutsu to show, and i dont this think 11 was made to not be a true block string its his god damn 11 lol.
this happens to his 11, 114 and 111 too, notice this doesnt happen in his other variations.

after 10sec of lab practice, see the video, and im sure i can do it in heat of battle after a few mins of lab time.
notice: i do it as soon as i see the sword not before it!

Yes he is based on melee combat more then any other thing in kenjutsu.

are you a developer or you think gap was intended?

-------------------

anyway i'm done arguing for nothing if they want to fix this absurd bug they will.
peace out.

i understand what you are saying, in kenjutsu 111 has different animation, kenshi attacks with a sword in kenjutsu, and it has gap in it - simple as that. some have it, some not - that's the deal.
This thread is absolutely hilarious.
dont be "that guy", we too were once young.

There it is...
If u wana see strings that need fixing refer to JC's and 113 114 b34 which all randomly whiff.

String gaps are a normal thing, little unusual for a string like that to have one though.
