PDP Versus Pad Cord Repair?

So, after giving my mind some time to reset and get adjusted to the PDP Pad's six-button layout, I fell in love with it (no technophilia).

Unfortunately, I left my controller on the floor when my sister let her rabbit run around for a little bit, and the cord is sliced halfway through in three different spots.

Is there a cost-efficient way to repair or replace the cord? I do I have to buy a completely new one?

1) sever the slices completely
2) strip the outer casing and the casing around the wires
3) either solder them back together or be ghetto and twist them back together.

If you wanna get fancy find some heat shrink casing or just wrap it up in electrical tape.

Maybe you can buy a long usb cord and replace it altogether. But you need some soldering skills for that I guess.

Assuming you pad is a ps3 pad.
