Still wondering why Sub Zero is the only one whose mask falls off when doing mouth/face-based fatalities. That's what bothered me the most

Is it possible these come from the mobile game? The graphics look way too low-res to be from PS4/Xbox1.

No it is just that these aren't meant to be seen so they aren't high resolution, they just needed a basic face for facial movements under the mask. Why make something high resolution if no one is supposed to see it?

I really hate the Unreal Engine at time. Well, UE3. The faces look like they're fucking made out of plastic.

Also, I'm really reminded of Skyrim when I see Rain's face.

Like Jason's face that was exposed before, we are not supposed to see them, if they wanted to give a maskeless version of those, we would see a much higher degree of detail.

Rain is Prince, they probably put those faces there just to troll, anticipating someone to mod it.

Just found the original article: http://www.gamespot.com/images/1300-2919355 It seems they are indeed from PC version.

They have the full gallery, masked and maskless. However, even the masked screenshots look low-res. Probably the guy who did this, is running the game on one of the lower settings.
