Ottawa MK11 Thread

So here I am once again trying to revive the old MK9 / MKX scene we once had in Ottawa. It has been a few years now and I am hoping this time around we can have a big enough community to carry the game longer than we had in the past.

So if you live in Ottawa/Gatineau area and you are looking to get MK11 for console or PC feel free to post on this thread and help spread the word about the MK community in Ottawa.

Like in the past, we will be aiming for a set weekly get together where we gather and play the game. Again, I will be able to host a small group of players over at my place and will work some kind of a set up at one of Ottawa's gaming bars/pubs for bigger groups.

I still own one complete mobile PS4 gaming set up that should help us set up remotely and would consider a 2nd setup if the community is big enough.

Well I ain't Ottawa, but I am in Brockville. So that's something I guess that's sorta close.
That is very close my friend, especially if you drive. Stay tuned man and hopefully we can get things up and running as early as release week.
At one point we had people from Montreal and Toronto coming over to check out the competition and participate/win in a couple of local tournaments I hosted.

Transportation would be the issue I don't have a car currently, but if stuff goes down I would see if I can bum a ride up there.

I've since moved up to Toronto but I'll keep an eye out for anything going on in case I can make the trip back
How've you been man, hope all is well since we last played together. I'll keep you and everyone posted regularly on this thread. I know it's still a bit early but the hype is real.

Yo, damn, I thought you moved out of the country. I'd have pointed you towards the MKX setup that's been appearing randomly at Wednesday bar meetups downtown otherwise (unless those guys finally gave it up).

I'm invested in competing and traveling in other fighters, but will definitely give MKXI a good shot. I'd expect to keep at it if it's repped at the weekly Ottawa FGC meetups I already attend and as competitively interesting as final-patch IJ2 was.

Scott Buddy, how's it going man. No never left Ottawa but haven't played a fighter since MKX. Good to hear you are still around. Stay in touch and we will pick up where we left off.

Absolutely, I however left the country on a short notice. I will back this Sunday 5th of May. Once I am back we can set something up.

Also, message Essay (he replied to this thread) he is always up for a few games online and/or at the Blurry Pixle.

I live about 4hours away, but it would be nice to drop in sometime maybe for bigger events.

That would be great, we are hoping we can make the scene grow enough to start hosting such events/tournaments. Keep an eye on this forum for any updates.

Will do! And I have like 3 weeks of vacation this summer I can use so let me know when the first meet up is and I may be able to make it!

Are there still get-togethers for MK11 in Ottawa?
I'm just starting to come back out to the regular Wednesday/Friday FGC meetups here after an injury, but am up to speed on the game, and always bring my PS4 with MK11. However, seems like it's often only me for MK11, or occasionally one of four other heads who hit buttons, so we've been using my PS4 to other games that are more in-demand.

If you're down for an offline session though, let's organize through the #MK11 channel on the recently-consolidated Ottawa FGC Discord: https://discord.gg/btsa4dt

It usually just takes people communicating their intention to come out and play to justify keeping a setup running. Just bear in mind that there is a shortage of space every other Wednesday for the biweekly tournament streams (i.e. first and third Wednesdays of the month, i think?)
