That's probably not the best thing to do. Going easy means they don't learn. And you should seek to play those who give you a challenge without having to let them get a few hits in.

The BEST alternative is to just use a character you are not very experienced with, that way, you can have a more even game against less experienced players, but still get the satisfaction of being competitive .

Also, 70% wins isn't mediocre. The average win percentage is 50%. So that's well above average :)

well i know its not for the best but i prefer to play a few games with someone no matter what. i hate when people leave after one game.
Ive had games where ive beat someone a few times they then pick superman, barely win and then leave straight away. its rather annoying.

lol, yeah, I know how you feel.

Sometimes I'll get matched up with someone who has a TS 20 or below (which I generally view as being at the casual level) and I figure I'll just choose a character I'm not good with so it becomes a more interesting match....

Then I see their selector hover over Supes at the character select screen, and I'm like "well, fuck that, I'm using my main" *bodies Supes with Lexy*

Ive had someone once literally try to use half the cast to beat my Harley. that was pretty entertaining. Its nice to play a few games against people to as it takes forever for someone to accept a game.

I only (rage)quit if the connection is really bad or if the other player is being cheap. Certain things only work online and that's very aggravating, because I know I'd outplay my oponnent in an offline environment so I wouldn't exactly consider that he has more knowledge than me at the game. However most of the time in a "fair" fight ragequitting is just stupid.
There's no excuse of ragging.

ugghh... counterpicking.

The sad thing is, it can actually be effective against me in certain situations.

I'll be playing Lex, beat a Batman player- they switch to Flash, I'll lose once or twice before adapting to Flash's multi-hits and then win, then they'll choose another. Deathstroke, I'll lose once or twice before adapting to his zoning, then I'll win, and they'll choose Catwoman, I gotta remember to stop using probes and put out more grav mines.....

And it repeats and repeats- I'll lose 1 for every 2 if I can't adapt fast enough. And they'll refuse to stick with a character if they lose just once!

I don't have the same problem with Ares though, since he's a bit more well-rounded.

I got a message from someone saying I shouldn't toy with him and just finish the match. People don't like it if you are too obvious when trying to give them a chance. Now I just pick my worst characters or even sometimes random pick if they are really bad.

Someone quit just as I was about to slam them down with aquamans trident, f2 1+3. Would have loved a screenshot of that.

Nice ring. I have a mace.
The story: Guy tries to lame me out. Hardcore. With Supes. I got the impression he's thinking "if I just play lame enough, he'll get frustrated and I'll win." After much chasing him down, catching him dashing in the air, I had about 75% health, and he supered me on wake up. He proceeded to jump away after that when Bane's godlike D2 hit him. I converted into 123xxBane's super. After the "YEEEEEEEEAHHHHHH" animation played, I got this strange message.

Anytime someone ragequits against a bane player, you KNOW shit was gettin real. lol

I think rage quitting is acceptable if a match is too laggy to be playable, but only if one leaves at the start of a fight. I'll admit that I will rage quit against someone that quit against me previously if they're about to win or if they start using a lag switch (these appear mainly in 3D fighters, especially Tekken and DOA). Apart from lag or retaliatory rage quitting, quitting is a sissy move.

Quitting in my experience occurs a lot more in MK due to people trying to justify it by saying they left to not waste time watching fatalities. I get a lot more hate mail in IGAU though for some reason.

See title.
As a player that has absolutely no possibilites of playing in an offline environment (its currently non-existant here), I'm pretty much stuck with the online matches.
Why does everyone behave like an underaged spoiled brat? In ranked if I select a top tier character (I main GL/AM) and if for whatever reason I lose, I immediately get hate mail. I've also noticed Ares players are the worse, if I ever lose to ANY Ares player AT ALL, they ALWAYS send me hate mail. Now Ares is getting buffed? I'm not even used to Ares matchups yet.
What the hell is wrong with everyone, though? Sometimes I quit at the end of a match (if I get hit by a super or something), it doesn't even matter, it's ranked, I won't play the same guy again and it saves time, I may have to get off soon because of irl tasks - I lost so who cares, right? Wrong.
Hate mail yet again.
This is aggravating, I don't exactly get angry often at this game but at one point it gets ridiculous. In player matches if I beat somebody, they'll proceed to attempt to beat me using a top tier character like superman and if they succeed they quit afterwards and tell me I suck. SO my question to you guys is do you do send hate mail to people if you beat them? In my honest opinion, that's very disrespectul, take the win and walk away, no need to be a bitch about it. Also I do realize I could just mute everyone or try and actually find people to play with, but I mean, as far as finding proper people to play with - I don't have that much time anyway and I see that most players around here live in NA, but if there's any european players that aren't complete garbage we could play some matches once in a while though.
Are there actually any decent players around or is everyone just some teenage full of angst?
