Haaave you met Sektor?
This game was made by Epic Megagames and released in 1993.
It started out as a mere SF clone with two playable characters but later the developers added
the best thing they could: Robots.
The idea behind the game is that you chose a pilot and a robot. The robot gives the moves, the pilot gives the abbilities of the robot like speed, endurance, and damage.
Why was it so good?
It had the most fun carrer mode of all time with hidden bosses, many secrets and an epic
final boss. You were able to upgrade your moves with secrets, so it was not made for competitive gameplay (it only played on two buttons a kick and a punch...and of course directions) but it was so much damn fun. It had finishing moves too and a that good music it is still one of my favorites.
The game was made freeware, so here's a link, and try it out hope ya'll like it ^^

It runs with dosbox very well, at first you may want to reduce the speed of the game.
