Alien Substance
Evanesce
Over the course of my days in MK9, I learned a variety of characters in the roster. The method was relatively the same for each fighter: take baby steps and get a feel, look at general tips and guides, learn some frame data, improve on my own for a bit, then learn MU strategies, and continue improving on my own from there, whilst taking a look for more info every now and then.
But Kratos is a different story. I decided to learn him despite his banned-tier status, knowing that he will not be there to assist me in any tourney, but that does not matter; it is very unlikely that I'll ever participate in an MK9 tournament.
All the training I have put myself through with a multitude of fighters over the months was seemingly in preparation for Kratos. Without any sort of guide or tutorial on how to use him, only some scraps of information in his graveyard called a sub-forum, I am left with only my wits and ability to improve. But I was not entirely left in the darkness, for the great and powerful Somberness was there to give his frame data to the Kratos sub-forum, and that helped me out.
Over the weeks of my self-teaching, I attempted to inject some life into Kratos' catacombs, and that was accomplished, but only marginally. It was all lost after the September Data Loss of TYM, but I still pulled through and tried again to spit and shine Kratos' cemetary, but meh, that did not work as well as before.
As I type this, I have a good idea of how to use Kratos. I think I can do well with him, but the greatest obstacle preventing me from doing so is MU experience with Kratos. Yeah: Knowing what to do, what works and what does not in a matchup is important, and that is what I currently need to work on. (It doesn't help that he is a low B-tier fighter, whatever, my only high-tier character is Freddy Krueger)
Oh, to be alone (practically) in my quest to improve with Kratos. It is a sad thing, but it almost feels good, like I'm feeding off of the loneliness or something.

Let me entertain whoever is reading this with one of my favorite MK9 videos involving Kratos:
Kratos and the Ladies, they won't bow down to him. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.
