But question, is the new DOA worth getting? Roommate said it was good but wanted a non biased opinion
It is good, but it depends if it your type of style of fighting game as well. If you don't like 3D fighters then this game won't be for you then because thats what it is. Now as it is a 3D fighter it takes a lot of patience and is the easiest 3D fighter to get into and not really complicated.
Don't know if you know this but also have something called counters(can be also said to be same thing as a parry) and depending on what your opponent does high punch, high kick, low punch, mid kick, low kick, low punch you can use one the counters to parry their move so if they do a high punch you use high parry. There also a full in depth tutorial mode on how to play.
Now speaking of DoA5U it is a good game to get into especially if you are new to 3D fighters. Though if you don't like parries then you might end up hating the game. DoA5/DoA5U is a great improvement from DoA4.
Also juggles are not like Tekken where they go up real high. They revolve around the critical stun system.
