Hey Panda--hassle Krayzie about getting into it, maybe? There actually seems to be a decent amount of buzz for this game around the Bay Area, which is nice since I'm picking it up.

Yo, i'm from daly city, ca. I live in between the SFO airport and Downtown SF. so hit me up on here if you guys wanna play for sure! I'm up for it.

If you guys are looking to get some MK action on the weekends, we have a good FG scene on the SFSU campus that is open to everyone, including non-students like myself. We've been going strong for several months and have a strong Marvel community, and now a number of us are getting into that MK9.

We're also actively playing Tekken 6 and SSF4. Definitely come hit us up for some games, the actual day and time we session varies a bit but there's an SRK thread that's regularly updated with details.

Hope to meet some of new faces! :D

EDIT: also want to add these sessions are free and open to all ages and skill levels!

im down for some casuals.... i got my stick for ps3. I'm in rohnert park, CA. about 45min north of the golden gate.

Greetings,

You guys in the area should check out our Wednesday night arcade "freeplay" at Starbase arcade, located in San Rafael, CA 15 mins north of the GG bridge. We have a homebrew MK9 cab(with sanwa parts) as well as additional Xbox setups.

Our thread over at SRk is here

We have been running 3 MK9 setups since release as well as MVC3. We often stream and I'm sure MK will get some streaming love in the future. Come check us out! Details in our thread.

The sfsu session I mentioned earlier is being held this Sunday from 2pm-10pm. We should be at the Mary Park Hall lounge

The front door is often locked, so you'll need someone to let you in. Either PM me here, or go to SRK and PM the thread author for his cell number.

Reminder for Bay Area Mk players. We're doing our thing tomorrow night at Starbase arcade in San Rafael. Things get popping around 9 and go until, at least, 2. Last weds folks were there until 5 am lol. IPW was in the house to stream a little.

Vid from last week.

Come through MK players!!!! Hope to see some new faces!

I'm not so sure about Krayzie getting into it when I last played him and Xeph. Only Xeph cared to play and he too didn't seem to really want to play neither of them don't wanna really learn another game.

SFSU guys--what's going on THIS weekend?

San Rafael guys--sounds awesome for me, except making that drive to play on xbox pads/sticks (this is really a pad game) makes me want to weep...are there any xbox pads out there which aren't total trash?

As far as I know no, and the closest thing to decent pad that needs no modification is SF fight pad which is rare now I believe. As for me I just use the Xconverter360 to use my PS2 dual shock controller. Which I finally got the analog sticks removed so nothing gets in the way of my fat thumbs. It turns out NDK has a converter and Krayzie last I checked got two of them.

We're having a $2 tournament this Saturday. It's our first tournament, so we're trying to keep it smallish. Either way, everyone is invited to get plenty of matches in. We'll have enough setups for casuals as well. Again, we'll be playing lots of MK9, Marvel, SSF4 and probably (hopefully!) some Chaos Breaker.

SFSU Dojo/$2 tourney will be tomorrow, 5/14 from 2pm-10pm at mary park hall lounge.

-PS- I highly recommend making a trip up to Starbase, really good/friendly comp, streamed matches, and those guys are really getting into the game. I went there earlier this week and leveled up like 1000%, heh. For PS3 purists, you're always welcome to bring a console (Bob will waive the venue fee, IIRC).

Do you need a magical card thingy to get in there?

And I will definitely consider heading to Starbase. I just need to figure out a way to control the game that won't fill me with rage.

Anyone can PM me here and I can forward the organizer's cell, or go to SRK and PM the thread author to get his cell number directly. Or, you can just wait for the door to randomly open. :D

Starbase is an arcade. So it has regular business hours open 7 days a week. Weds nights are the night to attend for MK. The beauty of this session is that it is open to everyone. There is no elitist waiting list or anything. You show up say hi to a couple folks give Video Bob (the owner) 5$ and play as much as you want till the wee hours of the morning. I'll try and open up a thread with more details here on tym soon. I'm one of the OG starbase players, btw. We love getting new players!
