New to MK.. what are 1, 2, 3, 4 in reference to?

This throws me way off from other fighting games that use numbers as a notation for directional inputs (numad). I'd see 214 as Quarter Circle Back, not Heavy Punch, Light Punch, Heavy Kick

What does these means :

tkl

In order:

xx = Cancel into another move
tkl = telekinesis something (I think)
tkp = telekinesis something (I think)
jp = jumping punch
tp = possibly teleport? Unsure
aa = anti-air

I know some of them, haha.

Also, NJP = neutral jump punch, as in the straight up jump that does a ground bounce.
