New Sheeva Low Grab Block string set up.

Are you sure the first 2 in 212 after the whiffed low grab can't be ducked?
I was hoping you would come in here and comment on all of this...I'm pretty sure you made a few posts regarding this type of setup...No? I want to see this in actual match play...

I'm not an expert on her damage, but I guess if it works then by all means do it, the combo I performed in the video was irrilivant to the fact that I was trying to show the grab set up, but I was aware there could be slight damage % differences in her combo finish choice.

From my experience in doing this to opponents, when they crouch block right from the start of the repeated 212, they get hit when they crouch blocking, thus allowing the set up for the low blocked grab.

Can anyone here land NJP after doing the low grab? I heard it can be done but I've NEVER been able to land it...not once. I like the idea of low grab into NJP THEN the B2, 1+2, air grab...Anyone?

I hope so too. Unfortunately I won't be back on the Xbox/ps3 until boxing day night.

But lets hope that Low Grab, NJP, B2, 2+1, :en Anti air grab works...Damm.

How are you getting on with the new tech? Any joy?

From my experience in doing this to opponents, when they crouch block right from the start of the repeated 212, they get hit when they crouch blocking, thus allowing the set up for the low blocked grab.
They dont need to crouch block, just D3 since 2 doesn't hit mid.

I haven't tried. I'll try right now and report back in five minutes or so.

To get the NJP you have to do it kinda late, like hit them just as they start falling

Turns out, to land the NJP after the low grab, you need to walk a pixel forward, then do the NJP.
This is hard...only adds 2% damage to the combo, but...

Low Grab, B2, 1+2~anti air grab = 43%/47% with EX

If you somehow manage to get a low grab with your back to the wall
Low Grab, NJP, B2, 1+2~grab n punch = 49%/52% with EX

Yeah...I haven't tried it yet but I found this combo video on Youtube ( http://youtu.be/DKyP5rrHxlk ) and the very first combo showcases exactly what we are talking about. I tend to land the down grab quite a bit but I get kinda finger tied due to the directional change...so...doing the low grab straight into B2 is kinda hard for me...it's weird.

Yeah, if you look very closely in the video, she walks just an inch forward and does the NJP.
Actually tapping forward, then up, then punch worked best for me, and it's like it buffered the walk, jump, punch.
Timing felt ten times harder than Reptile's Dash+NJP combos.

You can actually do...
Low Grab, F, NJP, B2, 1+2, Air Grab for 45%/49% with EX

But IMHO it's best to leave the NJP out. 2% isn't worth the troubles.
I wish I could play as Sheeva...she's fun.

IMHO work on your dyslexia and go for the B2, 1+2~air grab.
Tell yourself it's F2, 1+2 if that helps.

I'm not leveling up another low tier character though...Mileena and Scorpion were enough. (well Mileena was lower when I started playing as her anyway)

LMAO at dyslexia! I've landed it before but it just feels weird...and Mileena is soooo not low tier...get it together! :)

When I picked her up though, there were almost no players maining her. Good times. Now everyone knows better. ; )

Which is only good to use on the last match of a set to finish off your opponent. 2nd thing I learned was that a blocked d1 jails them for low grab? Is this 100% true?

Just do enhanced low grab, b2, 1+2, Fireball. 45% and only 1 bar

D1 on block gets you the grab, on hit they can jump out before the grab hits. But a smart opponent should start to respect d4 fireball.

Nice. Yeah I've been playing with Sheeva for about 3 months now and I've got her down pat...it's just when I do land the low grab during a match i get excited and I always butcher the B2, 1+2... I have a question. At 0:24 in this combo vid ( http://youtu.be/DKyP5rrHxlk ) he does the low grab, then dashes and uppercut and it sends the opponent in the opposite direction, then he dashes and d1 into grab-n-punch. I tested this on the same stage, no where near the corner, and the uppercuts would come out random (ie throwing them further in front of sheeva and sometimes flipping them backwards, over sheeva's head, thus allowing her to do that combo)...why does the uppercut do this in this scenario?
 
Is there a reason to use Fireball instead of the anti air grab which does more damage and leaves them closer to you??
Well Sheeva actually has 3 choices.

1. Enhanced Low grab, b2, 1+2, Fireball. Easiest Timing of the 3 with 45% damage and sends them far across the screen to continue fireball/ground pound zoning. Good for characters like Johnny Cage who you want far away from you. (Do not do this one if your opponent is in the corner. The fireball will wiff.)

2. Enhanced Low grab, b2, 1+2, Air grab. Slightly harder timing than fireball for 47% damage. This keeps opponent close to you in an untechable knockdown state where they can't roll away but they can still wake up attack. Good for characters you have a hard time with their zoning like Shang Tsung.

3. Enhanced Low grab, b2, 1+2, BF3 (grab 'n punch). Super Strict timing (I deem too hard for tournament play) for a whopping 51%. (unless your in the corner, if so the low grab puts your opponent in the corner and you can do this one with ease.)

If opponent is jailed blocking low then don't do the enhanced version of the low grab (we only use the enhanced low grab for armor, not for the extra 4% damage) do the normal low grab. The damages for each are

1. 41% damage non enhanced grab. Same properties. Puts opponent far away for more zoning. Don't use if opponent is in corner.

2. 43% damage non enhanced grab. Same properties. Untechable knockdown, no roll but opponent can wake up attack. Keeps enemies close for more pressure.

3. 47% damage non enhanced grab. Same properties. Still only use if you are in the corner for easy timing.

Edit: I just tried adding a NJP after all 3 of these options. It works for all 3 enhanced and non enhanced ones. Adding 2% damage to each option. The difficulty is way harder and totally not worth it in my opinion.

I like how Sheeva is the only Shokan with Grab N Punch...that really makes her the coolest one in this game.
Reminds me of the move that made Goro the coolest Shokan to begin with.
 
Well sadly I just did some testing with a friend. d1 does not jail them low. So if the opponent is duck blocking and we d1 into low grab they can stand up and the low grab will wiff. Same thing goes for the d3. :doh:

It will still be hard for them to stand up on reaction, but they will be able to do so.
