Cool. Looks like the Screenwriter, Greg Russo, describes himself as a lifelong gamer, and is apparently a Mortal Kombat fan. Seems fairly active on Twitter.

My guess is the movie is going to bad, but hopefully they can at least make it into a fun bad movie.
