Lol look at last final round. 9th place Prince martinez. and all of tampa placed top 35 at least. And FL took home the team tourny.
And all of EC/WC Placed top 25 and up, Notice most of the top mentionable names are EC/WC. I don't even know of any actually good tampa players if you're talking about your short lived SF4 Career you weren't that great neither was the rest of tampa. So anyways your current ST Career is even worse go back to playing a game where you are wanted like 3s :), Sorry if you get offended someone had to say the truth.

I just want to report that thankfully this game feels and plays nothing like TvC.

A little bit of animation similiarities, but it's minor.

I watched some stream last night. I've played TvC and I see a ton of TvC in it, mainly many of things I hated about it, but I do see a lot of MvC2. I will however still never play it due to the repetitive nature of the attacks with only 3 attack buttons. They could have done this game with 6 attacks and more animation. That bugs me.

Just about all attacks have a f+ and a b+ variant, so that helps mix it up.

Nothing I hated about TvC is in there (so far). What are you referring to, aside from control scheme?

launchers off trips (appear to be unrollable), overly simple reverse comboing fierces, into previous hits or other fierces (exists to some extent in early vs games), the style of animation, the hunter series air combos look to have the same 3 or attacks doubled, instead 5 different attacks but still sorta combo the same way as the 5 different hits would, like in TvC, and jab, jab, jab, jab, jab trip, launcher, especially lol. I am aware of directional moves, but it doesn't look like there are that many. In TvC at least 35% of actual moves, with unique and important properties were entirely removed. In MvC2, even though most medium normals couldn't be done on their own via directional, everything was still there for combos. Those are my biggest gripes.

In TvC, I used an 8 button stick, and double assigned the attacks, so I had two rows of attacks and could perform combos the way I normally would.

Yeah, lots of that is what I don't like. And I understand all of it.

But a lot of it, and the reason I think this has potential, is because unlike TvC where those are your only options there seems to be better ways to combo and operate in this game.

For example the jab, jab, jab jab launcher super type stuff is still here. But in about 5 minutes I found more varied better alternatives to score big damage.

So instead of all the bnb combos being the same generic stuff it's more like a huge sandbox where anything goes (like most marvel).

The stuff people come up with is going to be impressive in this.

For example, I was messing around with Cap. America earlier. I did a shield throw, a st. jab, low lk, shield rush for a combo. Normally this is as far as the combo goes, but in this game his shield hits on the way back (and you can direct it different ways from above or below).

So I had the first four hits, shield hits on the way back, stun super. And that's super basic obviously. Combos are just created differently than they were in TvC. You're not tied to the same stuff over and over, because everyone has such a bigger moveset and more weapons.

I haven't messed with much magic series air combos, I did see some variety (3-4 different attacks), but I'm really just digging into it.

For the otg launchers, yeah they're there. We'll see how effective they end up being. I don't know about rolling (hopefully it's an option). Maybe the window is tight.

One of the biggest hates I had from TvC though was the fact that every blocked attack can go the other way with a huge combo. That's not here from what I can tell. I saw a lot on stream, but I credit that to being guys who are just messing around trying to find new shit.

You actually can play a little defensive, I was able to turn cpu on hard and it's a lot harder to turn around and get crazy damage off a blocked fierce.

Also, there are a TON of options for stick layout and setup. Every button can be mapped to all sorts of stuff, I think you could make a layout you like.

I'm not trying to sell you on the game if you don't wanna play it, but just putting my two cents in. I've only sat with it for 30 minutes, and the differences from TvC are huge.

It's not MvC2 that's for sure. But I'm not so sure the jump from MvC2 to this is much more dramatic than MvC1-MvC2 was.
