My speculation:
This is Kitana before she is freed from Quan Chi in the beginning of story mode... something tells me that Sindel doesn't make it along with Jade (known).

They're fighting adult Cassie and Co, so there's no way this is in the beginning. I'm guessing there's a second characters get free event that takes place later in the story.

but both subby sound the same. Besides Jamieson Price did the voice of Bihan in mk9 and has confirmed voice work on Mkx. If it was two different subs then we would have heard different voices for each sub. Instead both subs we've seen have the same voice.

If Price is playing Bi Han in MKX then they absolutely have different actors because this SZ was absolutely Steve Blum.
