Who is the coolest, new or old Ermac? Lets looks! Whats your opinion?
Why shouldn't he promote his MORTAL KOMBAT related video on MORTAL KOMBATs biggest website?Hey look, ANOTHER shameless self-promotion thread.
by this logic every sequel just makes things better. go say that to the resident evil fans and see how that progression worked out for them. This not even debatable, not be an ass or anything, there is no way in hell any MK9 character will be better than any MKX character version, every character has evolved beyond anything in the MK9 version, which is much better in every way because is a progression, the old version can never top the newer, specially if one is an improvement of the good and same formula MK9 was used.
Aside from that i get to try my favourite char 3 times in 3 different ways, 3 times the fun.
Said TOO WELL!I said it before but his X-ray is too generic for someone who has super strong telekenetic power. I don't think Ermac needs to do a flying jump kick at someone to break their neck Lol Just twist that bitch around like cork screw
interesting take...I for one can respect his new xray, ermac is a being who feels no pain, no emotion, his xray headbutt shows that he is just a being given life by countless souls, as for his new telekenetic push animation, he barely extends his hands like in MK9, can u imagine how good flip stance will work in his favor? By having his back turned and his arms barely extend when doing telekinetic push, the opponent will have a hard time seeing the move coming, I for one am not a big fan of the continuous floating but I'm not gonna read too much into it, I think ermac will be very solid this time around, and is a nice addition.
Side Note:
It would be cool to have the countless souls leave ermac body after someone fatalities him, would just add to him not being a real human being.. @tylerlansdown
tellin ya... if they somehow made it to where souls would come out of him and do his bidding while Ermac just floated there... maaaaaanI agree with @STORMS 100%. I was one of the people who jumped through the roof watching Ermac's reveal and gameplay, but if I had any small criticism it would be the X-Ray. I mean you have a guy made of a thousand souls wielding powers where he can attack you by just thinking it, and his X-Ray is a head butt, a kick, and a stomp???
I could see if Kano or someone had an X-Ray like that, but with Ermac there's unlimited potential for an X-Ray and that was probably the worst case scenario.
Almost like the X-Ray had to be bad so everything else could be so awesome about him. We all like balance right?
I actually agree with this, ermac could just possess one of the opponents ligaments, specifically use telekinetic force to make the opponent float mid air against their will, trying to resist, zoom into xray mode and destroy their tissue or make their bones break, then use TK force to push them away... @tylerlansdown lolHis X-Ray could have been like Quan chi combined with Noobs. Two Souls could have left the body and maybe possesed his body or they could have run up to an opponent and snap their necks holds them like noobs and kicks them in the back. Then both of them could each hold 1 arm of the opponent them Ermac could do the dive in head but.
I came in to give an Xray idea I just came up with only to find yours and I must say, yours sounds fucking awesome! My idea for his X-ray:
Starts the same with the small grab into headbutt, but this time it actually knocks the opponent off his feet. While opponent is still falling back Ermac teleports behind landing a force blast to the spine, x-ray zoom in, opponent thrown upwards from the blast. Ermac teleports above opponent and lands his air stomp to the opponent's upper back, x-ray zoom in.
I'm pretty sure that's what's left of his mummy wraps in MK9Overall design I prefer MKX. I like the aligning of his design more towards a warlock/sorcerer approach. The floating, the hooded robe. I like most of it. BUT I don't like the face. It wouldn't be TOO bad except he has those weird slabs of paint on his face and that totally ruins the design. Looks like failed camo paint.
But in terms of animation from what I've seen, I hate to say it but MK9's ermac looks better animated to me. The TK animations look more believable as in I can tell his intent more from the way he performs his TK moves in MK9 vs MKX, and his MKX xray isn't very good. It seems so weirdly animated and the reaction of the opponent seems off. Why is it that Ermac headbutts you flying at like 45 mph yet the opponent's feet seem glued to the floor and the attack doesn't even move them very much? It's odd looking. He also doesn't use his TK in any effective or cool way in his Xray either.
Still looks horrible and throws off the entire costume. But both MK9 and MKX's designs pale in comparison to the fan concept "scarecrow" look. Man that costume looked amazingI'm pretty sure that's what's left of his mummy wraps in MK9
You pretty much patented "shameless" with this post.Hey look, ANOTHER shameless self-promotion thread.
Not at all. Some sequels attempt to revolutionize or revamp the gameplay. In that case a new version may well be poorer than the old. But in an iterative system such outcomes are very unlikely. In terms of gameplay MKX is very much an iteration of MK9 and IGAU so it's quite logical to assume it would be better.by this logic every sequel just makes things better. go say that to the resident evil fans and see how that progression worked out for them.
i honestly prefer MK9s version, MKX Ermac looks like a twig and his animations do not look good. pretty much the only thing i preffer about the new one is that they replaced the stupid but stomps with something more respectable
