I don't understand the hate for the song, I mean, I barely noticed it because it's not really my kind of music, but it's not like it's offensive or shit. And also, it's a trailer, so it's expected that NRS marketing will put a song that appeals to a large audience instead of niche old video game fans. I'd be far more worried about the blandness MK has been serving in-game with those atmospheric pieces that go nowhere.

After watching the trailer and seeing the Story Mode content, I confess, I'm very, very tempted to get it on launch. We'll see if I cave.

I was the same way; however, after letting my hype die down, I realized I would essentially be paying 40 bucks for 1 character (don't care for Sheeva or Robo), some costumes, and a story mode that I could just watch on Youtube if I wanted to. They almost got me with the advertisements though. I was really close to getting it just because I love MK and was hyped up to play again. But I got bills to pay, and don't mind waiting for the characters to be sold separately.

I personally care for none of the characters, for me it would only be the Story Mode. I know I could watch it via YouTube, but that's not how I want to experience it (or any game's story) for the first time.

I still haven't pre-ordered yet, we'll see.

 

Green Man Gaming has it for 20% off and, apparently, tax free, so I did cave. That's $16.50 Canadian off the full price on Steam.

The story was a mess, and let's face it, the mess probably kontinues in Aftermath.. I have no expectation for any redemption here...
just same ol' loose ends delivered in amazing graphics.. which I'll enjoy for what it is and then devour our our the online critics that comes with it.
I honestly can't wait!

 

Im replaying the story mode and I got to say im pretty annoyed. Kotal gets his ass handed to him multiple times... not once does he call the sun or summon a totem.

@Mr.Khen I personally did have any issues with the story. It went in a different direction that I thought, but I enjoyed it and it was much better and consistent than Mortal Kombat X's.
