"Now there's one thing the IGAU players may have forgotten. C-Sword has arguably the best execution of our entire scene combined. With that in mind, I ask you, what if he had simply picked up Zod and IAZB'd the shit out of all of us and 50/50'd all of us from across the screen because #Trait? What would you think of him then if he execution alone allows him to play characters like Zod that nobody else can play?"

Lol I just re read this and literally started dying... Chuck I have no idea where you get your ideas from but you should apologize for this statement.
C-Sword has great execution dude.

I dunno about that. I have trouble with MK's playstyle. I guess I need to get used to it but I have such a block playing MK9
You will definitely get better, don't worry. Don't have the attitude that you'll be ass, and you'll succeed

A respectable goal for the future. I like you guys, so I hope it turns out. If I can make a suggestion as an outsider who has been a part of the growing pains of a scene....just worry about getting people to play. All the skill gaps sort themselves out.

The true skill comes when a lower level player can admit their short comings, and instead of being a cancer in the locker room, works with a higher skill player to improve themselves.

Further, best or worst "in the scene" is irrelevant. At least imo. What matters is that you all have each others backs when it's needed. Can't grow if it's getting chopped down from within.
I agree with this and have been stressing this ever since we started the local tournaments.

There is nothing really going on here. If any of this is to even be considered "drama" or bickering. It all stemmed from the post by @Chuckychuck "trying to identify a top player".

Most people may not be aware of it, but @Jer and I were the original people who founded what NRS scene we have. IF anything, we had a much stronger scene and a lot more people show up before INJ when we were all playing MK. If anything that is what made our scene shrink to what it is today. I am not here to get into the inj vs mk war because it doesn't even matter. I have nothing against INJ, I respect people like it. I respect that people play it and that they go and play every Sunday here in Montreal. BUT I have realized it is just not the game for me. A lot of other people did the same and we only have a handful of people showing up to play at locals now.

...now back in the day when MK9 first came out this happened as well. People stopped showing up to locals within the first couple of months. Jer and I were pretty much the only people playing competitively and trying to push for a bigger community of people. We helped everyone we could when we would play them. Eventually more and more people started to show up and started to stick around. We had really healthy local tournaments. Usually always able to make a nice full 16 man bracket or maybe more. It was to the point where we would collect entry fees from the locals and save them up for people to just go to out of town tournaments in Toronto or East coast. So the scene pretty much helped to pay for itself. Every scene would die to have that. Jer and I would constantly help people level up and in turn we would level up. If you ask @LolingOctopus, @xQUANTUMx and @C-Sword, we would always show them things and help them level up. So Jer and I know what it means to help a scene to grow and to help push one another. We also come from the smash community. We did the same thing there. We helped people level up and helped grow the scene. So we know what's good

This pretty much all stopped when INJ came out. Im not saying the game is at fault. I am saying that the majority of our MK players didn't show up to locals anymore. Jer and I eventually stopped going because MK pretty much fell off the map.
No one was there to pick up where we left off. Jer and I being the competitive people that we are, started to play other competitive games that we could enter in tournaments and pretty much just start a new adventure.

Then in comes @CanadianBaconX and @Ecodus and I feel like these two are the zaf and jer successors for INJ. They are the ones that are pushing the community and the scene the way we were. These two are what the scene needs and how everyone should strive to be when it comes to this sort of thing. If jer and I come in this thread and post that we are the best and to hold that shit, everyone knows we are being trolls. They know how we are in person. The type of attitudes that need to stop are the ones that talk about " identifying top players in the local scene"

Come MKX when jer and I make our return, alongside @CanadianBaconX and @Ecodus we will definitely be helping people and helping the scene grow.

Why would you do a string with a gap only to end with TR when you can just do the faster start up string D1 and cancel into TR?
It's from the old days when AM players would f1 into delayed scoop or overhead (Tom Brady style). F13 could end in scoop but was risky so ppl would end in TR. Not really used much anymore other than the frame trap applications of d1 into f1 etc

Then I suppose you could 33/33/33 off of F1 with F1~Rush, F1 with the Scoop/OH mix-up.

Get back blown out by jer. Zaf does not even mention me even though I had as much participation as Canadian bacon. *Goes and cries in the corner and slits his wrists*

I honestly had no idea only because you are so quiet. We see what bacon does on the site and I just know how Ecodus pushes the scene.

BUT... props to you Nick for keeping the dream alive. You deserve it. You stuck it out in MK and you got leagues better from when we met you ( although I have no idea where your MK skillz went right now XD)

To keep it real, they are where they were before, or might be worse. Still doesn't AA, and jumps often, which is easily fixed.
