Avoiding 3/5 because you want to avoid top tier characters seems like really bad reasoning to me. It's not like those 2 characters run this game. They aren't running things now and even if they were... this game was designed around 3/5 so that really kind of ends the argument in my eyes.

I'm not partial to Bo3 or Bo5 either way, but I don't understand how people can say things like "this game was designed around 3/5". How on earth did you come to that conclusion? As far as I can tell this game was designed for Bo1.

I don't look at it as character based but player based TBH. The longer the set the best PLAYER will win, not the character.

Player A and Player B are both top 8 level placers of similar skill levels. Player A plays Aquaman, Player B plays catwoman. The odds of Player B winning a 3/5 compared to a 2/3 are much more difficult not because of their skill difference but because of the Match up Numbers.

Ok this is what I am saying... (mind you I prefer 3/5 personally)
Player A and Player B are both top 8 level placers of similar skill levels. Player A plays Aquaman, Player B plays catwoman. The odds of Player B winning a 3/5 compared to a 2/3 are much more difficult not because of their skill difference but because of the Match up Numbers.

That argument could go both ways though. Let's say in 2/3 tournament the final score between player A and B was 2-1. In a 3/5 tournament player B could make more adjustments, better reads from seeing habits, and bring it back 2-3 for a win. This is why 3/5 is better IMO.

I thought everyone understood that ALL FGS HAVE TOP TIERS. Ppl can moan and complain forever, things still wont change. True balance would mean all characters would have to be designed exactly the same, now how smart would that be? Characters being different may create imbalance, but it creates diversity, creativity, and uniqueness for fighting games as well.

As soon as we get this MLG money, people want to complain about matches being 2/3 when that's mostly what we're accustomed to. Injustice is pretty much the only game I watch competitively...I love it .Though,we have to realize that we're not calling the shots at all. This is an amazing opportunity and privilege for US, moreover than it is for MLG. It should be good enough that we even got back.

I don't know why, but it's obvious they're doing 2/3 for a specific reason this time around. It has nothing to with the way Inj and Mk9 are played.

I just would hate to see this community seem to demanding for something that imo is a trial for mlg and I recently ran into an old thread which was about the kabal glitch when he's invisible the 2nd round on TYM I think it was Adam saying something like "do it at mlg and get DQED" along with something else he typed which I felt he was annoyed. I will look for link when on my pc. I am just saying approach this with respect everyone. Lata and congrats on getting injustice into mlg good luck everyone

Yeah I think everyone is going to be fine with it either way. Nobody is going to boycott MLG if they don't switch. I think the point here is that it would be awesome if they do because the community wants to make the switch to 3/5 and this might hinder that. But nobody is saying no to MLG. So that's a silly point.

PNW does injustice 3/5 and it starts coming down to who still has their patience and nerves under control set after set after set. You see players come unraveled trying to just finish it.

I like it personally. You get to see more than a match up being played well or poorly.. You can really start to see what's going through their heads. The first 2 rounds usually go slow, by the book, play the match up. Round three someone is on edge or maybe getting cocky, all let's finish this. You start to see panic and frustration, more mistakes more impatience. But is the other player still together enough himself to cash in on them? It's a really good watch!

I would love for MLG to be convinced it is too. But yea lol just being there is pretty great. This game has such a Cinderella story with initial fan responses ranging from bleh to boiling hatred on it, but a year (and a couple patches and DLC characters) later it's here!
