I hate zoning. No more zoning please. This isn't a FPS, it's a fighting game. Don't bully me. Please respect my opinion. Thanks.
Zoning is an important dynamic of any fighting game imo. A fighting game would be incredibly boring if every single fighter had the same fighting style, e.g. rushdown, grappler, zoner, anti-zoner, and so on... A wider range of styles adds depth

Zoning is BS unless is raven.
Raven is fair and balanced.
I was thinking that keep away characters will be able to escape easily with the leverage Interactables.
I can see teleports destroying running,.
running is more for combos,pressure cancels and knock down game IMO

Of course it does, it's just I dislike it. Btw, It doesn't mean I want just pure rushdown chars, but I came from KOF, and as you may already know, it's hard to see a pure zoner there, but there is some zoning tactics (King for example).

Looks like people will need to zone smarter now instead of going into what I'd like to call "autopilot". Then again, it's too early to really tell.

Have a feeling that zonning will be very interesting in this game, i probably will play a zoning character or a zoning variation of a character.

The movement and jump mechanics have risk/rewards in each end, rushdown or zoning any character will have to deal with them.
 
Does anyone know if projectiles collide with each other?

I came across another forum post that seems to indicate this is happening.



That bug crawling on the ground is one of D'Vorah's projectiles. I'm wondering if this is just a property of Sub Zero's clone or if everyone will have this mechanic.

Zoning characters should be made like freddy or Zod not like DS
why ? Ds was too easy to zone with , you could go for 20 min in practice mode , learn his specials and go online win matches . Zod or freddy are hard to use , u have many tools and need to work with all of them to be good ,also special inputs play a role , It takes a while to be consistent with getting freddys far spike out.

im yet to see any compelling zoning in the MKX footage available so far
And you never will. From a spectating stand point zoning is incredibly boring to watch. NRS isn't going to market something that appears boring, when Zod and Martian Manhunter were announced NRS didn't release videos of them showcasing their zoning abilities, they showed off their trait and some combos.

NRS has said they are working to have more archtypes in their game so I'd expect to see zoners, grapplers, rushdown, etc.

I don't think we are seeing projectile trade here, I believe this is clone's property - the reason why we keep hearing that MKX ice clone "can be used as shield" from many sources.

Never use online wins against random morons as any sort of basis of perceived balance or imbalance. Versus the majority of scrubs on online any player with slightly average ability and game knowledge will win with just about strategy. Plus the crazy variation in a lag filled environment means reactions are stunted and what could be a cakewalk to defeat in an off line game, could be more powerful than it should.

Offline results versus competent players should be the only indication of quality.
