Ah shit. Do I start downplaying now?8.) Shinnok
In all seriousness:
Shinnok (frame traps, block strings/chip, hell spark +frames anywhere)
Tis true.Shinnok being better than Erron/Sonya LOL no

If that was true, Lao wouldn't be 2nd. Hat Trick exists@ZeZe
I'm assuming all variations are combined for one rating, so Unbreakable and Cryomancer hold him back. Grandmaster is obviously higher than that position. Same deal with Liu Kang at 18, considering his Flame Fist variation.
Not entirely, but tools play a big part in a character's placement, hence why DJT has mentioned specific tools in the explanations he gave.Tier lists aren't about characters' tools.
Would you agree with my previous post on JC at 16, Liu 17, and Mileena, Kitana and Kano at 18, 19, and 20 respectively?Personally i'd put liu way higher. If somebody like curbo puts time into flame fist he could be fucking scary.
60% meterless combos in the corner which with decent execution could pretty much be considered BNB's
Crazy chip, safe on everything, one of the best zoners in the game, probably highest damage combos, completely stuffs just about any wakeup in the game.
Time will tell, there is ways around his stuff but i think he'll be top 10 in the right hands.
Shinnok was beast before this Last patch, the last patch just made him more beast lol. What people need to understand about these lists at this moment in the games life is that they're essentially just a comparison of tools and how strong different characters 'feel' at the minute. If you come in here taking this stuff as the gospel then you need to re-think your approach.
We can't possibly say that Shinnok (for example) IS top 10 now, as it's been a week since the patch and obviously that doesn't leave enough time to understand MU's, which this list doesn't take enough of into account.
That being said, it's not a bad starting point.
You are honestly of no need of any tier list telling you where each character is ranked specifically if you understand which gameplay characteristics are most relevant to Mortal Kombat X's current meta game. The following list was originally posted by @GGA Max in the "Zoning Academy" thread. I slightly revised some wording and placed the gameplay characteristics in order of relevance.I refuse to believe Erron Black is number 10.
Exactly one of the placements I was talking about. Kenshi being #6 is as likely as Kano being better than Liu Kang. Or a few other incredibly weird placements. No one would agree with this list if a random posted it.No fu.... way that Kenshi is 6. The upplaying is real.
Above buffed Shinnok or Liu Kang? Really?
Kenshi is maybe at 10 but more likely 11-15.
You know that I dislike the current freak out the community is having about the Shinnok buffs, but I think I would agree that Shinnok is around 8-10th spot. The reasoning is, if you look at the characters below him you can start seeing where they might struggle with match ups. But can you think of any match up apart from Tanya where Impostor and Bone shaper have any trouble? I can't see it. Not yet, at least.Shinnok being better than Erron/Sonya LOL no
I have to agree. Definitely do not agree with Kenshi being that strong.Exactly one of the placements I was talking about. Kenshi being #6 is as likely as Kano being better than Liu Kang. Or a few other incredibly weird placements. No one would agree with this list if a random posted it.
I actually think Shinnock does well against Tanya (like Kenshi and Lao too). You know that I dislike the current freak out the community is having about the Shinnok buffs, but I think I would agree that Shinnok is around 8-10th spot.
