I'm bad, you're bad, we all want to get better and play competitively. I'd like to start organizing daily or weekly KOTH matches for newbies and bad players to practice against one another.

Dont you want to fight some ppl better than you? To see what you need to work on, I mean not all the time but some. So you don't get discouraged

Sure, but theres a huge disparity between skills in this game, and getting destroyed without getting a hit in isn't going to help anyone learn anything. It's good to play up, but not to play out of your league.
