I think the best part about the beta is the fact that pretty much everyone playing it knows how to play. It's been pretty refreshing to be able to just jump in and play some good sets, and not have to wade through the infinite amount of d3/f4 ermacs and full screen low minion scorpions.

Also to weigh on ninjutsu: I've been maining him since June and f2 hitting overhead is fine. As has been stated, if youre opponent blocks low on the f2/takedown mixup, youre -100000 so have fun getting full comboed. In all honesty, the b4 buff is far scarier imo, but at least it requires meter to be safe. Although to be fair, b4 is also much scarier as a result of scorpion having an overhead that you actually have to respect now in f2. He's undoubtedly super good now, but I think we can all agree that scorpion deserves his moment in the top tier after injustice nerfed him into the next dimension.

Any frame data changes for sonya (specifically demolition)?

Is 224 and b33f4 still useless? Can they now cancel into special or do they HKD? Any string changes? 121 still randomly whiff? Is ex nade drop still a thing on hit/block mid screen into grab or 50/50? any hkd string that is safe to reload from in the corner (2134)? better scaling on frag grenades? Apparently exnade drop doesn't bounce in the corner still, which is a huge nerf IMO considering it used to at least on some maps

B4 alone is safe and breaks armor tho, not to mention the hitbox it great.

Reload is faster, should be safe with 2134

Very pointless and nitpicky but I hope that the character placement goes back to normal in XL.
Don't worry i'm there with you, it is such a petty complaint but we're used to where our characters are and it's just an annoyance to have to readjust our heads, but no doubt it will be looking at the version they had at ESL the character roster was how it's been since release with the added DLC to the sides.

This times a thousand. I only played it for a couple hours, but everyone I played knew what they were doing.
 
I still need a ps4 beta code, if someone is kind enough to give me/share me one. If you don't feel kind enough to do so, i can also pay you for that, just pm me with details.

I would really like to see unbreakable become viable. I still can't figure why NRS chose to make jump attacks beat out parries.
I guess it could be possible. If they give all parries more recovery on whiff, empty jumps could be used to beat AA parries. Not sure how that would affect all the other parry characters though. Maybe it is already possible to punish them, depends on the recoveries.

Ninjutsu is nowhere near top tier, the f2/f2 takedown can be fuzzied 100% of the time, without needing to think about it.

So essentially it's the same as before, with a better sweep.

This is why he keeps getting nuked in games, he gets something and people get excited for no reason. Everyone was like "WOW HE HAS NOW A TRUE 50/50, BROKEN" eventhough it's barely a mixup.

He has lost the two flame auras in one combo already, let's see what he loses next...

he should lose the dumb active frames on the jump kick.

He's always been bad because his neutral game has always been shit. Even day 1 when he had his jailing strings etc. He needs a good mid string. None of his variations really help his neutral game, and IMO ninjutsu just makes it worse.

He's not too far off just being a gimmick character to me.

Wait, you think that ninjutsu makes his neutral game worse when compared to his other variations? At least you have decent range that has to be respected with ninjutsu.

I obviously am not as good of a player as you are and don't know the game as well either but I don't understand this statement

Well his ninjutsu B2 is basically a 'punish me' move, his f2 is ok, but he automatically gives up his turn, people comment on its ability to armour break etc, but Scorp isn't hard to block, so you don't need to armour him, just block his shit and let him give up his turn.

So let's say he's got you blocking because you wanna punish his b2 or get your turn back by blocking f2, what's his other options to worry about? That's where I'm coming from. He's not a character you have to overly respect in so many situations, and if you do, no biggie.

At least hell fire has the chance of randomly anti airing and the hellfire move to force people to do something.

His non ninjutsu f2 is probably better too, I get the feeling that move hits a lot more than his ninjutsu f2.

Yeah I see where you are coming from. B2 is still great as a ranged whiff punisher though and it does force people to block. I guess the only thing that f2 really opens up (assuming you can fuzzy f2~takedown and don't have to respect that option) is just a throw. B4 is still strong though but not overly scary since it is just a knockdown and does low damage.

Hellfire definitely has more options at full screen with the hellfire move but I find it very difficult to deal with characters with strong footsie tools in hellfire.

The update seems to make the beta run worse. I'm fighting more connections that all over the place. This new netcode is starting to feel like the old netcode again :\
