Why would they pull mk9 and shut down servers if they were planning on a remake? An announcement of a remake would likely spike sales. It's probably just a copyright issue.

They might make a collection but a specific remaster for mk9 with rollback I do not think there is enough casual interest for it to be worthwhile. It would be really cool but I don't think WB would sign off on the resources when they can shit out another injustice. Would love to be proved wrong and would pay $20 for it but no more.

They would have to remaster the game, rebalance the characters, and overhaul the online. Seems like a lot to ask. Especially since the coding in the game is apparently a mess.

Honestly im already good with the old (not changed game) I just want to play MK9 online again. Give us the komplete edition, take away the region lock and with the current net codes we would problaby have improved internet experiance aswell.

and if all else fails due to copyright they could just bring the game back/work out a deal, I mean hell it happens to Alan wake...

Yeah, I think in the future at some point NRS will definitely bring MK 9 back. For various reasons, namely being received the best out of any other NRS game and literally paving the way for what NRS is now, bringing back fans of old and new alike(something no other MK game has done let's be honest), and someone already made a modded/updated version of the game on here what a year or two back? If a fan or two or one guy I forget exactly can do it then NRS can definitely do it. They just have to want to, I don't believe for a second they can't do it. They have to want to though.

Um, I just played matches against some folks about a month ago on 360. Those servers are running via the Xbox Live service, the same one that the Xbox One runs on. You can still play MK9 online with a 360 as far as I know. I'll test again and come back with an update.

Please. When I tried a while back to verify someone else telling me the servers were gone, it no longer worked.

As much as I'd love to jump on the bandwagon of people thinking this is because of an MK9 remake, it's just simply not the case. NRS has their hands full currently with MK11 and likely Injustice 3. Unless they're outsourcing it, it's probably not happening.

Obviously, I'd love to be wrong. I would play the original version of MK9 over the boring slog that in MK11 any day, let alone a remaster with updated graphics and netcode.
