Aside from attacking and taking damage, are there any other ways to build meter? I noticed that getting the first attack in a match gives you a whole bar so I was wondering if anything else gives extra meter.
Im bad at this game but im pretty sure specials give you a lot of meter, try fireball spam or teleports (works better with kunglao because raidens tele as far as i can tell is kind of bad)

Attacking doesn't give you meter.
You get meter when:
1. You hit the block (on number of hits basis AFAIK);
2. You take non-chip damage (on damage taken basis?);
3. You execute special move.
TG builds so much meter because his full strings hit for something like 1-2 normal hits plus about 5 hits per extended normal. That's a lot.
