The online works great, I got a friend who lives close by with 5 bars and the connection feels flawless, Also got a buddy i play with half the country away which shows as 3 bar connection and i hardly notice the difference.

BTW Zero and Spider Man = Team Cocaine!
Spiderman so strong in this game, shame I suck at execution so i suck at playing him lol.

And I've Learned and have been using the Thanos palm breaker Loops to get back at all the Zero Lightning loops and Doom Foot Dive loops i had to deal with back in MvC3.

Also, space stone into command grab is my new favorite thing

I think i'm one of the few people that like the story mode. They made a lot of purposefully weird decisions that I think worked out. A lot of the "cringey" and cheesy dialogue is funny to me along with the character interactions. Its like an old 90s cheesy. It makes the whole presentation of the game make more sense (as boring, ugly and bland as it is.) I want to say the dislike for it is over exaggerated, but if people don't like then its unfair for me to say their wrong since its their opinion.

Biggest issue is seeing Sigma, Monster Hunter and Black Panther in it and having them as DLC. (You can even see their models!) But at least we'll get them, unlike Rain in mkx :(

Yeah, I definitely see what you mean. It is hella cheesy and Morrigan was just borderline rape-ish. hahaha

Arthor does not seem good at all. How is he fairing well online?
I'm pretty bad at this game so I can't really say, but I'm doing ok with him. He has the tools I need.

The first I really understood about MVCI neutral was throw shit at range to cover you as you tag in for close pressure. ArThor seems to do this exactly.

But his projectiles seem good. Lances appear to have high priority. I can really just chuck lances at my opponent, and when they get to mid range, I chuck out a torch throw so I can safely tag in Thor then Thor does Thor things.

Also Arthur appears to be really hard to assault from the air. Tiny hitbox but his crunching heavy punch goes nice and high for AAs. And good upwards projectile with crossbow.

That seems very effective. Im still trying to find my synergy team. I love playing Zero and Spider man, but the synergy together does not quite link attacks together. So maaaaybe ill stick with Zero and possibly somebody else hard hitting.

It's all so very confusing.
I think I'm going to pass on this game right now. I spent an evening at a friend's house who has the game legit, so I could play online so I got to experience the game 'in motion' so to speak, which is what I was lacking with my copy. If anyone cares I can write up a review. I'll be watching the game closely though and revisit things in a 6ish weeks.

Hope you come back, but honestly I've read most pro's are really digging this game, most comp fg's too which we're included. Yea there's lots of things they can add to make it better, like xmen for example lol, but there's also many great things about this game and it just came out. Also 98/100 would most likely say this game is fun as hell, probably the funnest fg out there to be honest. As much as I've read negative comments about mvci, (and its normal because it's capcom, you know? Kinda like apple hate) I'm willing to bet this game will outlive any other game on the market aside from sfv maybe, so that's always a plus. And when I say outlive I also mean it'll probably take important spots at every tourney. Anyhow don't go too far. Lol.

See, I thought a lot of that too, but most of the positive comments I see are coming from F-Champ and JWong and one or two other EXTREME Marvel heads. Which is great, but I wonder about the sincerity there in all honesty. ChrisG for instance dislikes the game intensely. Like, borderline hates it. He thinks its super unbalanced and fairly trash tier. I dont go that far, but he has some very good points - a lot of other pros are on his side of the matter as well. The game seems very divisive. I'm not personally on either side, but more willing to look and listen to both arguments, while sitting back and letting it play out to see what actually comes of things.

I know the game is supposed to be fun, but I guess I don't entirely see it yet. At the higher levels of play, yeah.. I guess, but down in the dregs and in the middle, its a HUGE mashfest with reality stone being said so much, I hear it echoing in my brain whenever its quiet. I mean, the games I played were FUN, but the first game was essentially identical to the 30th and the 50th. Again, that's a symptom of the lower ranks, but watching Chris and other good players play, outside of the ABSOLUTE top top players, the game doesn't look much different.. More real combos and fewer auto combo mashing, but its the same teams, the same strategy (just executed better and for more damage when it works), stones and everything else. I know, I know, we should ONLY LOOK AT TOP PLAY.. but.. no. We shouldnt. 99.9% of us will never be there - ever - so to me, a game needs to hold together well in the middle and upper ranks, not just the absolute top, because I have a chance to perform in the middle and upper ranks.

I wonder about the game's lifespan, I guess it depends on what you mean by that.. Its public lifespan is close to over already - honestly. Im not saying that out of hate, it really is. You cant get a game on PC at all hardly, and given the terrible sales Ive already seen complaints cropping up about getting games on PS4 outside of peak hours, playing the same guy over and over because almost no one is in matchmaking. Now, its private lifespan - maybe. By private I mean the small core of dedicated guys who obsess and carry the game along... Like UMvC3, for all the mouth running people most people never played the thing, or barely played it, but it survived due to an ultra hardcore knot of players who just KEPT playing. It also had/has unlimited depth and batshittery of course. Now, Capcom can force the game to 'live' through large pot bonuses and tournaments with large audiences, because that will attract sponsors, and that will attract a few players, but even then there is a kind of minimum level of solvency required.. If tournament numbers disappear outside of people just goofing off (hur dur Im heer so ill playe this gayme!) or this small group of the same handful of players.. it will become a problem. Capcom has given SFV life support because of all it had committed to SFV, but I dont think they see MvCI in the same way, so if they cant shill for costume sales, I dont see it lasting outside the ultra hardcore, which is nice and all, but you get a Skullgirls scenario where anyone interested in learning the game has to search like hell for someone to play with and then everyone you play isnt just good, they are top 32 good, making the learning process obnoxious.,

Obviously I'm jumping to a lot of conclusions and making assumptions, and all Im really meaning to do is talk out loud through possibilities.

I WANT the game to do well. I WANT it to be awesome and I WANT the meta to develop, cause right now, its already completely stagnant. That may come in the form of new tech or the entire world playing and building to counter whats out there so it forcibly changes, or it may be that Capcom needs to make changes - and Im not even talking about balance in the strictest sense here - but changes, to move things along.

You raise good points, and we both have assumptions, neither can be wrong until time shows where this game will be in some time. People also thought sfv would be dead after it's first year yet it had almost 1 million viewers it's second evo, more than inj2 and tekken 7 on their first together, if I recall correctly, this isn't sfv but just to show you that because something doesn't sell well doesn't mean it won't do well overall. At least for us the fans. Tekken outsold sfv so did inj2, but their following is just lacking compared to sfv. I disagree about mvci being fun only in the top echelon, I would argue it's fun regardless of your skill level, the mechanics and gameplay are just truly fun, but this is my opinion and I respect everyone else's. I mean a lot of people like inj2, I on the other hand think it's a horrible, slow, clunky boring AF game, couldn't stand it after week 1, yet I know to others it might be really fun. My point is that I might be very wrong, this game might not even have an evo lol, but I guess we'll all see in its due time. But again, you have good points. It's all good!

Reality stone is one of the most braindead things I've ever seen in a fighting game. Patiently waiting for its nerf.

I've also noticed that your infinity storm meter does not have to be full in order to activate it.

So my question is, does the meter have to be a certain point for the infinity storm to be activated? If so, that drastically changes game strategy on who uses the storm first.

Yeah, time will tell, and I genuinely hope I am SUPER wrong. I'd love to eat crow on this.

I;m gonna do something super scrubby though, and go ahead and call Reality Stone out, even this early, as being not only a STUPID FUCKING CHOICE but a seriously OP one as well. That one ability by itself will strangle the game until its fixed in some way.

You can use it after it touches the half line checkpoint. So when your gauge is half full you can use it.

Fuck it. You gotta learn the BnB of the game before you can pull off some advance ish.

Well choke my chicken McNuggets! That changes E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G

So is it probably the best stone?

No.. Its not probably the best.. Its hands down, broken ass retarded the best. There may be other options that work, but nothing is in the same tier as a tracking, spammable, safe, hit confirmable projectile that allows combos, mix, lockdown and everything in between.

Imagine Batman's mech bat trait, but literally one button away, and close to wrist cannon spammable, no cool down, no charge time, and unlimited uses.
