We've? No. I established that but you and the majority of the drooling sheep of the Mk community were saying he was thus not deserving of any adjustments. I was the only one pushing back on that and few others.

So you went to the next goal post "look guys Lao in top 8 boys!" Knowing damn well you're leaving out the full context of choosing him for certain match ups thus he appears in said top 8.

Doesn't matter huh.

Top 8 appearance?= No balance adjustments.
Not once have I ever said he was Top 5.

I said he was a good character, which he is.

And it isn't a goalpost move to point out that the character's tournament performance is very consistent.

You want to talk about goalpost moving? I point out that - once again - Kung Lao makes another Top 8, you say, "that's only with Sektor!"

As if that matters.

Meanwhile, half of the Kung Lao players IN THIS THREAD are busy playing amateur game dev without having ever written a line of code in their life, all because they want Kung Lao to play like he did ten years ago.

This is why Kung Lao players on this site will never progress. Instead of learning from the best Kung Lao players in the world, you're stuck living in the past.

Kung Lao is a good character.

Any of the top 8 on MK9, which Lao was included in, had disproportionately good tools in relation to their flaws (if there were any). Lao had a fast teleport, fast low hat, fast launcher, safe strings, absurd mobility and great damage while having checks notes seemingly no drawbacks except "not being better than the other absurd characters above him on the tier list".

How do you know what I've done? I've done coding before and I understand how much work goes into development but let's talk about how you and tricky thinks I want MK9 Lao back.

I've never said that. Anything would be better than the dog shit that he is right now. He's clearly an unfinished, underdeveloped character and I expect them to act accordingly and give him the havik treatment pretty soon.

Not on meta shifting more so on the quality of like things cause this character has issues that need to be addressed. But he's also boring he does the same thing no matter the kameo choice.

What studios have you worked for? Lay them credentials down.

He's a complete character and in no way, "unfinished."

Armor that can launch
Unreactable overhead
Jailing pressure
Plus frames
Good zoning
Solid damage.
Great mobility from his launching divekick.
Hard knockdowns.

That's a complete character.

Pretty much everything a character needs to be good. And before you say, "but Kameos" welcome to MK1. Literally no character in this game can play without one.

I rather focus on improving the game/character where it can.

  1. Make Lao’s foreward, 3 (3,3,3) a mid and slightly faster. (It should be used more)
  2. Monk drop (F, 4) is very slow and super unsafe. Not sure how to fix this but litteraly nobody uses it.
  3. Maybe give his standing EX Buzzsaw a different property, something like in MK9 (not air buzzsaw)

I just can’t find a solid secondary Kameo for Lao, most kameos for Lao are kinda boring tbh.

I used to play Lao Goro but only “raise the roof” was worth it as “in front Shokan stomp” and “Dead weight” cost way too much meter to make useful.

If they buff in front/behind Shokan stomp and Dead weight so that it costs 1 meter to burn or much faster regeneration time, than Goro will allow some nice setups. See my short
