Keep the guests and replace Jacqui with Ash.
I don’t see how Geras, Cetrion and Kronika look “out of place” when they’re original characters. Cetrion is literally the polar opposite of Shinnok. I don’t think a futuristic look makes Geras and Kronika out of place. I really don’t understand the criteria of “looking like a MK character” because all original characters look like a MK character.Take Out:
Robocop
Rambo
Terminator
Joker
Jacqui Briggs
Add In:
Reptile
Sareena
Sektor
Cyrax
Takeda
The only constant with all these leaks is that Havik is in them.
He's one of the few new guys in MK11 that looks like an MK character. Geras, Cetrion and Kronika look super out of place imo
He has Cool Weapons, weird Lean Six Armed Body, his moveset is really fun, Greedy Personality.
Besides being a jobber is so meaningless in MK nowadays.
Ok, then you don't see it and that's fine.I don’t see how Geras, Cetrion and Kronika look “out of place” when they’re original characters. Cetrion is literally the polar opposite of Shinnok. I also don’t think that alone should give him a place in the roster.
This. She looks peaceful in her default design sure but in the story she’s still a villain. Cetrion is seriously wasted potential.Cetrion doesn't contrast Shinnok at all, she's a goddess of death.
What I don’t like is when characters are designed without a clear, defined theme. Cetrion is a “kitchen sink” type character, and it’s off-putting. Plants, rocks, water, fire, wind, life, death, order, chaos....Cetrion still looks out of place to me. I really can't say why, but she doesn't look like a Mortal Kombat character imo
She's the goddess of "virtue". So for some reason that translates to her being the AvatarWasn’t Cetrion supposed to be the elder goddess of life and Shinnok the elder goddess of death?
Well virtue and balance can be translated to the 4 elements. So I don’t see how that’s out of place. I get y’all don’t like Cetrion, but the “shes out of place” argument really is a load of shit to me. No character in the MK universe is out of place except the guest characters. I really don’t get what y’all criteria is for a “MK character”.She's the goddess of "virtue". So for some reason that translates to her being the Avatar
She has no personal agenda, no free will, and no emotion. She is simply a mouthpiece for Kronika, and can’t even justify her own existence over the course of the story. Absolutely nothing she does has anything to do with virtue.Well virtue and balance can be translated to the 4 elements. So I don’t see how that’s out of place. Yeah, but that wasn’t what the argument was about. It was about her, Geras and Kronika “not looking like MK characters”. Not how well they were developed. She has no personal agenda, no free will, and no emotion. She is simply a mouthpiece for Kronika, and can’t even justify her own existence over the course of the story. Absolutely nothing she does has anything to do with virtue.
it’s not that she doesn’t fit, it’s that she’s a poorly developed character who has no agency.
I think Swindle helped me realize what it is about her look I don't like. It isn't clear.Well virtue and balance can be translated to the 4 elements. So I don’t see how that’s out of place. And THAT is why she doesn’t fit in MK, to get back to the original argument. MK characters, at least all the ones who have endured the test of time, have very clear/simple themes and archetypes, and their actions and motivations stem directly from those ideas.I think Swindle helped me realize what it is about her look I don't like. It isn't clear.
Like any other MK character you get their vibe immediately. Kotal the Aztec guy, Erron the cowboy, Baraka the savage etc. But Cetrion is just a jumbled mess of too many ideas.
Her being the goddess of Balance makes no sense considering Kronika made her and Shinnok to balance things out. If Shinnok is purely about death and evil, then Cetrion should be his opposite, but she isn't.
As far as gameplay is concerned he's way more interesting than Kronika. What does she even do other than like 3 different types of fireballsI think Geras is actually a less powerful Kronika in terms of function. For the players who want to play the boss character without being the boss character.
It does make sense, in terms of direction with her. But I don’t see how she’s less of a MK character.I think Swindle helped me realize what it is about her look I don't like. It isn't clear.

She’s a NPC, her moveset clearly isn’t fleshed out. I don’t get why you’re comparing the gameplay of a character who’s your typical end boss with limited moves versus a fully fleshed out playable character. That’s likeAs far as gameplay is concerned he's way more interesting than Kronika. What does she even do other than like 3 different types of fireballs
Because she's an NPC lmao. You can do so much with her because she isn't restricted by competitive balance. Her design and her gameplay do not mesh together whatsoever. Her design is so impossibly plain and boring, yet fighting her you have all these weird rules in place. Like she's just a regular ass woman, yet she has restrictions like you're fighting Motaro. You can't throw, you can't launch, can't use most specials, can't use supers. If this is how her fight is going to be then they should have gone all out with her design. Make her a giant, give her a crazy monster form, fucking anything other than the lame ass space baby design. She’s a NPC, her moveset clearly isn’t fleshed out. Comparing apples with pears.
I mean MK gets overhyped for doing the bare minimum. MK is known for looking beautiful, but lacking substance as of late.Say what you want, Street Fighter 5 with a fifth season of DLC, each character getting a story, adding new stages, costumes and even adding new gameplay elements that are total game changers is still miles ahead. So diverse and new every year, while MK11 stays the same. We got a great story and finishers, some stages, but they will never add to it and listen to fans asking for gameplay changes, let alone completely add new elements.
What do you mean by substance?I mean MK gets overhyped for doing the bare minimum. MK is known for looking beautiful, but lacking substance as of late.
Well in my opinion MK11 feels lacking in a sense. Like backstories of characters, storytelling, gameplay. The game is beautiful, but the story, retcons of some characters and gameplay make the game feel meh at times. That’s what I mean, but this is how I feel. What do you mean by substance?
