I wonder if Kitana can get a f41 before Mileena can duck. This would mean 40% no meter punish.

Just to clarify again, I am 99% sure she can block when she lands but they would have to not go for the sai to block in anticipation of this new tech.

I will! For all of those that mentioned that this looks difficult to do on reaction...well...it is...at first! After you train your self to dash and input whatever it is your going for, it becomes easier. It's kind of like you pound dash once and then execute 33....I'm starting to get the hang of it.

Honestly Bildslash, with your 6-frame standing jab, you may get a full combo out of it.
If everyone can dash back I guess it's only a matter of testing what the best to do in that scenario. Cage could go right into blockstrings, Sonya into d4 and MS shenanigans, Quan Chi into Rune Trap, etc.

If she cannot duck, then wouldn't low combo starters could be effective in this situation? Such as Kang, Quan, or Jax.
She can't duck in time to avoid high attacks like jabs or throws, but she can definitely block everything.

I don't know what this means, maybe I just suck at the timing on the PS3.

I tried for 20 minutes on my PS3 which is hooked up to a laggy TV on 720p. Couldn't land it once. I got hit every time.

I thought that maybe my timing was off so I booted up my Xbox on my gaming monitor (2ms) which is hooked up via VGA and 1680x1050 which is the resolution of the monitor and got it 7/10 times.

So I thought maybe it was the laggy TV and hooked up my PS3 to the same monitor that my Xbox is hooked up to using an HDMI-to-DVI converter still using 720p (there is no setting to get to the monitor resolution on the PS3 using HDMI). This takes away all of the lag and I still couldn't land it even once on the PS3 where I could nearly every time on the Xbox on the same monitor.

I seriously doubt that this is console specific. My thoughts are that it may have something to do with the wonky VGA resolution going to my monitor. When I have the Xbox on, the characters are smaller on-screen and the camera is sort of zoomed out so there is more background on the screen. On the PS3 setup using 720p on the same stage, the characters take up more of the screen and there is less background.

This got me thinking about the Noob portal glitch where if you throw the portal out when the screen is scrolled up way high, you get the glitch because the time delay between portals gets used up due to the portal having to travel further to the ground. Is this the case with Mileena's EX Telekick? On the PS3 there is less space above the characters which means that Mileena's second kick of the EX Telekick comes out closer to your character not allowing you to dash out where you can on the Xbox using the VGA cables which has more space above the characters to give you more time to dash away.

Am I just too used to the Xbox timing to get this on the PS3?

How many of you have gotten this to work? If you have, what is your setup? (ps3/xbox?, screen resolution?)

If this is resolution specific then I would have to say that the VGA cables would have to be banned as it would clearly change the game if this is true. If it is console specific, then this poses a problem as well, but not as big.

Tried for a good hour and a half with Kano, got nothing. Another half hour with Kang, got nothing, another hour with kitana, got nothing. Something being console specific sounds weird to me, but has anyone had any success making this happen on a PS3 yet? Not even an ex upball would hit, but my meter would drain every time.

Teleport is always the same if it hits on the same part of the body. I can do it while playing in both 16:9 and 4:3 on Xbox. Not all characters can do it while standing as their hitboxes are too big.

I have landed it I think once...the timing is VERY HARD on ps3....when you said you got it like 5 times in a row I felt seriously inept lol. But it is possible...I've done it once....but I don't know how...it wasn't by any dash...

UPDATE: This "may" be an Xbox only tech as I have not been able to get it even once on the PS3. More testing needs to be done.

I have tested every character on the Xbox and here is what I have come up with:

* All armor attacks work against the first and second kick, including all Xrays except Jax and Kano.

Characters that can dash out:
Sindel, Kitana, Noob, Skarlet, Freddy

Characters with invincible specials that work:
  • Cyrax (Anti-Air)
  • Cage (EX Nut Punch)
Characters with specials that work:
  • Cyber Sub-Zero (Ice Parry (8%) and EX Ice Parry (27%)) - 1 frame startup!
  • Sheeva (Anti-Air Grab) - only works on the first kick. If you are watching for the Telekick, you can grab it on reaction.
Characters with Armor Attacks that give better combos than just blocking:
  • Sonya (EX Cartwheel)
  • Kabal (EX Nomad Dash cancel into 2~ndc, 2~ndc, 2, f4~nd) ... although you can just opt for a d1 into f4~nd instead, but sometimes you whiff the f4 and get nothing.
  • Kenshi (EX Rising Karma?)
  • Freddy can dash out, but EX Sweet Dreams gives you a full combo!
Characters that have better options just blocking both kicks:
  • Scorpion - d1~tp to vortex
  • Sub-Zero - 212~freeze

Looking at it, I can say that there is a difference in Kitana's dash animation in between the kicks.

That's what I was afraid of.

All resolutions (480p, 720p, 1080p, 1680x1050 VGA) on the Xbox are consistent and I can get the dash out with the five characters I listed. I even got a dashout d1 with Stryker that avoided the second kick and whiffed, but I couldn't reproduce it.

I have not gotten it yet on PS3. This makes Mileena's matchups vs the five characters that can dash out a little bit worse on the Xbox version if it is true that it is console specific.

UPDATE: STORMS After extensive testing, this is an XBOX/PS VITA ONLY tech. What I mean by this is that the tech is to dash out and avoid the second kick of Mileena's EX Telekick then attack or throw, which you cannot do on the PS3. I can get it nearly every time on the Xbox or PS Vita where I've only dashed out twice in over a thousand tries on the PS3. On the PS3, you can only crouch block the first telekick and jump out which is something altogether different.

Kitana, Sindel, Noob, Skarlet, and Freddy
