A lot of you guys are forgetting that back in the day when KI came out... they're wasn't youtube to find all of the balance issues or forums to show the games flaws. The games had more appeal back then bc it took awhile before people figured out how broken it was. It was a great time for fighting games.

The comments about not being an MK fan unless you get every game is absurd. I spent hundreds of dollars playing KI1/2 in the arcades and on console, but this new one flat out looks bad. They should have stayed with the originals art style and the animations look wonky. That's not Jago's flying kick. The mechanics are questionable as well.

Also making games that are easier for casuals and eradicating defense is killing this industry as well as injustice is close to or has already hit its ceiling. Injustice is a fundamentally bad game and people are playing it with the hype of a new character reveal and that's it, but it lacks the fundamentals depth to be a great tourney fighter. I have little hope that NRS knows how to fix this fixable problem as their questionable patches have shown and how they "balanced" MK9.

Lol who the hell cares what James Chen thinks you mean to tell me KI one of the few games that made a huge impact on gaming changed the game and introduced new mechanics to fighting games was so successful because it was terrible lol why is it always the scrub retards to say these dumb things

I think most people agree that the first Killer Instinct was terrible. Just like most people agree SF1 was terrible. MK1 was terrible. I mean they are iconic... but LBSH.

I agree that removing good defensive options is bad for fighters, its obvious that thy are aiming at casual scrubs that love jumping and attacking without really knowing the consecuences...

Injustice is the perfect example with no aas, no reversals, no good pokes, no wake ups, a bunch of freaking armor and easy mode dirty set ups etc etc.

KI3 art style isnt KI at all but as long as the mechanics are solid I wouldnt mind.

I can understand SF1 but it was the first of its kind and improved greatly with SF2 but KI & MK1 was not terrible and never heard of this until now what was terrible was the many clones of those 3 games that was never heard of or even last a minute those where terrible games terrible games don't make the impact those games did and most people even like KI better than KI2

in terms of fundamentals and balance those games are terrible. They are iconic, but not tourney worthy games, which is what they are referencing. I loved both KI and MK, but as I have matured into fighting games I can admit that they are super broken. They were fun and had transcending elements which is why they are still relevant, but lacked fundamentals... I feel the same way about injustice.
