ki vs usf4

MK1 is the best MK period.
TGI Friday's has better burgers than Ruby Tuesday's but Red Robin trumps in that department.

Red Robin takes it in a landslide.

It's all so very confusing.
I can only speak about SFIV.

It's not as bad as some are making it out to be, for a new player that is. I've been playing it for almost 3months now and I am brand new to fighting games. I had one month, maybe 6 weeks in MKX prior to SF.

I can play against multi year experience and not be overwhelmed. If I play an 'average' SF player, I can be competitive usually. I routinely play a very solid player, he has tourney experience and hes what is call 'good' at SF. He's not world-class great, but he mops up just the aame. I've gotten to the point that I can typically 3/10 him in serious matches.

Now, I'm not saying that to pat myself on the back, I'm using as an example that with the right mindset and willingness to learn, you CAN make up for the experience and time gap of long time players.

I've also had a ton of luck finding super helpful, patient people who enjoy playing and helping you learn. Jump in some smaller SF4 streams and ask around in chat. Easy to find people if your thing isn't random online matches.

Sf4 net code is good. It's not KI godlike (or so ove read) but its good. I have wayyyy more matches that are perfectly fine vs ones with issues.

Now, imo, SF4 is the better game to pick up and learn if you have an eye to the future. KI looks awesome but its pretty damn unique, and I don't THINK a huge amount of KI skills would transfer over to other games, where as SF skills are relevant across a huge breadth of fighting games.. Not to mention skills to put yo use in SFV, which I honestly think is gonna be the next 'big deal'

I prefer KI for various reasons I won't bother to list.

I kinda feel it's unfair to say 'which one is better' because they're both different

But one reason I prefer KI and we'll the netherrealm games is because the combos are nice and long. Street fighter isn't based on combos as much (all though they have some really hard ones) and to me these awesome high damaging combos is what lured me into fighting games

I definitely have much more fun playing KI. I only really enjoy SFIV when I'm playing El Fuerte.

One huge thing in its favor is KI is completely engineered for hype. During its development, the devs weren't just looking at mechanics through a design standpoint, they were literally asking themselves "how can we make this insanely hype?" It paid off.

SFV looks like a significant improvement though.

So you enjoy the game by sucking the enjoyment from your competition by playing El Fuerte. God I hate that character.
I'm gonna be honest. I'm terrible at SFIV, and El Fuerte let's me get people salty regardless of how much I suck.

So... yeah...

Imo:
KI is more fun, has a better tutorial, has better character diversity, feels fresher/more creative, feels more interesting.
I have never even played the new KI and I agree with this lol and no I am not a SF hater, I enjoy SF too, but the new KI looks so damn awesome.

What is your criteria for "better"? Yeah KI has MUCH better netcode, but those games are also very different in how they play.

USF4 is a footsie-fest. A very traditional fighter. Where as KI is more crazy, and only getting crazier.

So yeah, it depends on what you want from your fighter.

TL;DR - need more info give a better answer.
i disagree that usf4 is a footsie-fest. only really at the highest of high level play will it become like this. most matches end up in knockdown into setup and muchos option selectos

What I mean by "footsie fest" is neutral game. SF is all neutral, and yeah, knockdown setups and such. If you control the neutral though, you win the game.

I love playing footsies, but I also love crazy. That is a lot of the reason why I like MK, but honestly, I think KI does it better in many respects.

A lot of KI's game is winning the neutral, but it isn't as crucial as in SF purely because of the combo Breaker system. If you are good at breaking, you can afford to take more risks, or make more mistakes. That is why KI is more exciting to watch than SF (to some). You've got to be more cautious in SF, which builds Hella tension, but KI becomes faster in the moment to moment, on top of having those tense moments in close matches.

KI for me, I love the Characters, stages, music, and overall theme. I actually have become fond of the LoL style of dropping one character every so often. It keeps the game fresh and updated without going all in on some big update like thee SFIV series has done

Punching bag that throws fans !
yeah most of them view themselves as better than you
I really didn't see any difference between SF / KI / MK communities when it comes to that.

Most likely because people don't play just one game nowadays ...

I get it that you love KI and you try to "show it to the whole world" (hence the thread), but let's not pretend fighting games' fans are all of a sudden "baby cats with love in their eyes" just because they bought an Xbox One to play KI ... please :)

Hatemails and mic-bitching is like mandatory in those games lol
