General/Other - Buzz Saw Is there a point in using buzzsaw over tempest?

Buzzsaw, to me seem pretty worthless. In buzzsaw, you get a high low but it can be fuzzy'd. The damage is not on par with tempest. Tempest has wayyyy better pressure then buzzsaw. Tempest EX hat toss is + 28. Buzzsaw EX low hat toss is only +6. The only thing buzzsaw excel at is zoning IMO. Care to shed some light for me on why to use buzzsaw over tempest?

PL made a good statement as to why Tempest Lao is pretty silly at the moment. And I totally agree with him. Being +20 something for ex orbiting hat is a bit too much. He mentioned that it should be at around +6-9 at most. And that Buzzsaw's special moves involving hat should deal more dmg. He also mentioned some other stuff which I don't remember.

From what I know, Buzzsaw only gets some decent setups off of EX low hat and jump in pressure but that's about it. Though, I guess 44 is also pretty good.

Well he can't get meterless damage, so he'd need something for that IMO.

Perhaps make the low hat -5 instead of -6 so cassie can't flip kick it for free.

And maybe something like Lius flame fist buff, sharpen the hat for more damage off of hat attacks, because fuck it why not?
 
Buzzsaw lacks damage and is a lot more meter dependant. He lacks damage a little off of the 11212, f23 and ex spin. Also like foxy already said if low hat was -5 it would not get full combo punished by cassie. The variation is really all about the low hat. Tempest doesn't seem to deal with matchups as much as other characters because ex hat spin pressure is guaranteed and he has high damage, this pretty much would compensate for the matchups where X characters tools beat kung laos tools in the neutral or counterpoking game. So even if X characters tools beat kung laos tools, it would probabaly not be worse then 4-6. Tempest is also a lot more safer than buzzsaw. Buzzsaw is not crazy risky, but his pressure and mixups do allow opponents to make a read and get out+get damage. Tempest also doesnt have to deal with the hat cooldown as much as buzzsaw does. low hat or straight hat on whiff will take a lot of time to respawn while the worst tempest has to deal with is a 3 sec cooldown if hat spin wears off or gets blocked.

Buzz-saw is far from worthless, but the damage difference makes it hard to commit to that variation.

The pressure in buzz-saw is quite good and it has much better oki than tempest. Also, ex spin in buzz-saw is much better in the neutral than its tempest counterpart (though the opposite is true when it comes to anti-air). Buzz-saw on the whole is actually better in the neutral, and low hat gives you another tool in KL's already great neutral game. Forcing the opponent to crouch or making him press buttons and do something stupid like jumping or something like that is a pretty big deal.

Low hats on hit gives you continuous pressure and they're safe on block, and unlike tempest, you don't spend meter for your pressure.

Of course, this is only looking at the positive side since the advantages tempest has over buzz-saw in other areas are clear, but I'm just disputing the notion that buzz-saw is worthless. It really isn't.

I personally dont like how long buzzsaw hat to come back if it whiffs. enjoy the mid range game without spin(anti air) or mid hat.

I think its damage. Buzzsaw doesnt get a big reward for commiting to b2 OH. I feel like the game is more aimed at who gets the most reward off their mixups. either high damage or restand/mixup or both lol. Jax getting like 40% meterless corner restand
