I feel the same about them as well. The dc inivers is filled to the brim.with characters. And lbsh, Adam and shazam fundamentally have the exact same powers. Lightno.g isn't manifesting into spider arms or buses or gatling guns. At least the lanterns can literally make different things.

Dude, MK9 literally has two characters named Sub Zero who have ice powers in the cast, and they are as different as night and day.

Hasn't been a single characters shown in trailer that wasn't confirmed playable yet. Not one. Why you gotta break balls?

That point is pretty much moot because the only character I can remember the guys at NRS confirming unplayable was Hawkman. We have Hawkgirl anyway so who cares.

My point is that they wouldn't make a playable character lack detail compared to the others. They will all have a similar number of polygons, and textures would be a certain resolution. All I said was he lacks detail and his texures aren't on par with confirmed characters. Most likely he ain't playable.

Besides he's not unique enough. Put in Martian Manhunter of something.

The Sub-Zero's are two completely different characters lol. They don't even play close to similar.

On the other hand, they can always make 2 of the same characters completely different. Ryu and Ken are the same, but also very different.

Still, I'd rather have a character like Martian Manhunter.

All this talk about "unique character" and "Shazam part deux" is ludicrous.

I said this in another thread about Powergirl but this is not the first fighting game to feature multiple projectile free characters in it and there are a TON of ways to differentiate such movesets from one another.

• She-Hulk style . A power character who has mashable lows, a slide to go under projectiles, crumples and command grabs to setup for big damage resets and throw damage punishes. Great characters in corner.
• Dudley style. Dash striker with decent damage but rapid combos that are big, plus great counters, and high lows.
• Nova style minus the projectiles. Big damned damage characters with lots of OTG's for combo extensions and lots of air dashes to cutoff approaches. Great at cornering.
• Hugo Style. Big range on pokes, big damage on everything, command grabs for every angle of attack and deeeeep crossups to open people up.
• Hybrid of Ralf and Clark from KoF13. Decent speed with strong normals, odd hitboxes, with a lot of crossups and overheads. Can cancel things into option selects of either strikes or grab attempts to keep people guessing. Once he gets a hit the combo is small but it is BIG.

So shut up about this "waste of a roster spot/he'll play the same" talk. Thats just a small selection of ALL the ways he could play and there are dozens more ways he could play in addition to that. Plus his gimmick isn't even known yet. For all we know his gimmick could be ripping up the God damned ground to gain projectile boulders to throw at folks.

Black Adam is a great character, and given the whole thunder and lightning thing he has in addition to his flight and strength he has a lot of potential for a great moveset. Especially since all Shazam got was some grabs and a summonable lightning bolt from above.

You are entitled to your opinion for sure. But I'm not going to "shut up" because you don't agree with me.

black adam looks way under par from his other versions/uniforms, in all honesty he looks ass to me.

Me too honestly. However after seeing this and remembering my recent problems with my own character I ask you to picture this.

That outfit from a side view.

It would be almost entirely one solid color all the way down with nothing much else save a lot of skin above the shoulder (those neck/shoulder muscles only look good exposed like that from the front where you can see all the contours. From a side they just look dull in most cases). Its great, but it'd require a lot of moves to have him turn to face the camera. Even his back shots are nearly one solid wall of black without even cape movement to liven it up.

Im not saying the new outfit is good yet since I haven't seen it outside of cutscenes, but I will say it adds a lot of visual excitement when you view it from the side because you'd always be facing a yellow on black lightning bolt blowing around on a cape and his boots have gold all over them to liven up the look of his walk, kick and other movements involving them. It might just look alright in a match when you consider that.

Just thought I'd throw my hat in and play devil's advocate here since I do the whole art thing myself. I can't really fault them for changing the design to add more life to his sideview during gameplay.

My point...shazam, and black Adam have the same powers. And very similiar looks. Id rather have a different character than have nrs find a way to make his lightning based powers different. It would be like having Spiderman, and ultimate universe Spiderman in the same game.

I completely respect unique powerset additions if that is your stance. However, if someone says he WILL be the same as Shazam though then yeah they should shut the hell up. Theres no gameplay to justify such stupid comments. I'll support folks wanting cast that are unique in powersets though for the greater variety they might offer to playstyles. I still think Black Adam will be great though.

Yeah, variety is awesome. I'm hoping Black Adam gets some of that Nova action with full screen OTG's and a bunch of extensions personally. However, if we are talking variety though I think the game could use Static. It'd be a homerun in terms of appealing to casuals and hardcore alike and his move potential with his powers is pretty legit. Dude is practically MVC Magneto with the way he fought on this show and in the comics.

Still all variety filled powersets aside I am eager to see some Black Adam. He's one of the best villains out there and he is tied to a country so he'll make for some excellent story.
