I took this gathered info from MKU.com:

(full chat transcript here: http://www.mortalkombatwarehouse.com/FightNight2008.html )

The staff of mortalkombatonline had a discussion with the Mortal Kombat developing team in an IRC chat room earlier this evening. Furthermore, Mortal Kombat fans had the opportunity to ask the team numerous questions regarding the forthcoming instalment of the Mortal Kombat franchise - Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe. Here is some new and fresh information gathered from the aforementioned discussion:

Characters

-> all characters are supposedly playable at the beginning of the game except Shao Kahn and Darkseid, who will have to be unlocked first. Shao Kahn and Darkseid are sub-bosses.

-> Dark-Kahn, the final boss of MK Vs. DC, will not be made playable

Gameplay Elements

-> Klose Kombat is performed by tapping 1+3 together. There is also a mid variation of Klose Kombat, which can grab crouching opponents. The notation for mid-Klose Kombat is unknown at this moment. Moreover, all variations of Klose Kombat are escapable, but the developing team did not provide any details.

-> 3D direction throws are performed by tapping 2+4 together. Using a direction throw, you may also utilize the d-pad on your controller to throw your opponent in a certain direction. Furthermore, throwing your opponent into objects will provide opportunities for juggles. The 3D direction throws are also "escapable" in a way that only their damage can be reduced. Notations for such escapes are unknown at this point, but one developer mentioned that there will be some timing to it.

-> Rage Mode, as we already know, is confirmed to last for six seconds, and the damage from all attacks is increased by 50%. When in rage mode, the second hit of your dial-a-combo or string becomes unblockable. Moreover, the developers claim that certain combos may be linked into rage mode to deal more damage to your opponent.

There are numerous ways to build your rage meter, which includes blocking moves and special moves, doing moves and special moves, taunting (for those characters who have taunts), etc. The rage meter may also be used for combo breakers (which of course drains your rage meter).

- Pro Moves are just frames; that is, they require specific timings in order to be performed. The developers did not discuss them much aside from mentioning that "players will spend hours attempting to master them".

Online Gameplay

-> both systems, the X-Box 360 as well as the PS3, will have chat rooms.

-> the winner of a match will be officially announced in the chat room.

-> ranked matches will be played under a "matching system"; that is, you will automatically be matched with another player who intends to play a ranked match. This system was probably implemented to avoid "cherry picking" whom you want to play against as a means to obtain better ranks.

-> friendly matches (i.e., non-ranked matches) are selective; that is, you can create a room and fight anyone you like according to the developers.

-> the X-Box 360 will have "region kombat" while the PS3 will not. In other words, the X-Box 360 will allow you to play PAL players (i.e., players from Europe).

-> there will be no "spectator mode" (i.e., watching your friends play live) available online for MK Vs. DC according to the developers.

Special thanks go to Check for providing a lot of information from Fight Night.

The mid version of KK is just a low grab (only hits ducking opponents), down + right shoulder or D+2+4. The info for them was typo-swapped; 1+3 is the 3DT, 2+4 is KK.

They are escaped by pressing 1/3 for 3DT or 2/4 for KK during the escapable window on the initial grab. The further reducing damage on the 3DT is pressing 1/3 during when you hit the ground to do a slide animation taking less damage instead of the full tumble.

Nice info tim, I don't get the mid variation of klose kombat.
yeah, we'll have to "tinker" with that one, hehe

This is gonna be fun ;)
