Question - Inferno Inferno Scorpion's EX DB4

Does anyone know what this move does? From what I can tell it doesn't do extra damage, it doesn't have armor, it doesn't get sped up, and isn't safer. In case you are wondering which move this is, it is the low demon minion projectile.

Is it really just a waste of ex meter?
