General/Other - Mileena Imo nothing is more annoying than jumps

Should Neutral jump-up special attacks be more unsafe with a bigger recovery?

Imo Sub-zero ice koine is not more annoying than a player that does random 50/50 that are negative but safe, neutral jump attack, stood safe after and he is a 1/4 away from me and i have to play footsies again and deal with his zoning again. Same goes to jumpings and cross-up after a negative 50/50 that's still safe and a chance to jump over me. Most of the time i whiff and get punished because i thought it is my turn but fuck they jump over me or neutral jump punch and get punished.

I am for sure not many will be reacting to a neutral special jump up attack like predator's njp and punish it when you have a tiny time to punish it (sometimes they do it twice and his ass still safe and didn't react to it). Also, I don't want to back away because my ass will get zoned and i can teleport but it is risky.

What should i do? really... or is it that my reaction that terrible? I play mileena by the way.

Watch the many times i whiffed trying to start my offense becuase of the cross up and jumping really up close like it has invicibility frames, It's ridiculous. I did anti air few times but come on, it's too many i have to take care of. Everytime i try to kounter or start my offense after he gets blocked he jumps, so i whiff and get punished or if i whiff and recover, i don't get time to anti-cross up. If i block his combo and wait for him to jump is bad idea for anti cross up, what if he keeps pressuring me becuase i am not doing nothing?. I can't just backdash after his combo is blocked and play footsies with a character that could zone me to death or have a great range of moves like kotal and catch me backdashing or catch me with a jump attack. I don't know what to do.

As a Mileena player people should be afraid of jumping on you. She has godlike Anti Airs, B1, D1, Roll are top tier in terms of Anti Airs.
If I jump at a half decent Mileena, I lose 30%.

However, I agree the jump attacks are a bit much.
considering that he said against sub-zero which means during those jump ins ice clone was probably in play, mileena's godlike anti airs don't really help unless i misunderstood

Play bo rai cho with his horrific jumps and antiairs and then you can make a topic.

Yep can't react to it on time up close or cross-up when again when it is my turn i feel like i have to wait for him to jump over for a roll, neutral punch for roll but tiny time to punish it with roll or simply start my turn on ground. I have to worry about three guessing stuff.
If roll doesn't work for you for cross ups then use s2. If reaction time is a problem for cross ups, then practice it over and over so it becomes easier.

mostly I think range and hitboxes should be nerfed, some instant njps hit neutral crouching opponents ffs.

wouldn't mind a few startup frames on jumps either.

i dont see how ice clone stops her from anti-airing, except for maybe with ball, and even then, the clone disappears if you nick her first

actually, you can make a topic no matter what. This is place for character discussion, and its fine to ask for advice on the weaker parts of your game no matter what character you play, and no matter how elitist other people want to be in their responses.

I don't quite understand... you mean someone does a 50/50 and crosses you up afterwards?
If whatever string is -3 on block, a tight standing 1 (or d1, depending on the hitbox), will catch any jump out or cross over atempt. Maybe you can't even jump out when -2, I never took this to the lab.

BRC's standing 4 is a pretty good anti-air.
Its good purely hitting people out the sky but you get nothing much from it and its death on whiff.

There is much better antiairs

You're right hes fine on crossups but jumping around away from you etc he suck the big dick. If someone jumps back on wakeup, f1 doesnt connect properly and the rest of his moves are slow as balls so whiff or dont connect properly.

Mileenas d2 is pretty good as well.
I've actually d2'd opponents who were behind me, and it recovers so fast, if you're near the corner, you can usually convert. If you're playing ethereal, you can also ex fade through jump ins and then trip guard them.

Bo has an incredibly stupid jump attack
His j2 has long active frames, thats about its only good quality, it has really really shitty range. His j1 doesnt even link into half his normals and has no range.

His j2 is great at doing meaty knockdown jumpins etc and is just more unusual than anything.
