If MK4 used Digitized Actors

Who else thinks if they used digitized actors for MK4 the game would have been so much more amazing? Check out these awesome fan made videos below:

Scorpion vs Sub-Zero

Scorpion vs Jax

Graphics wise, I personally thought MK4 series was the worst out of the entire franchise due to the presentation alone. It just looked not a whole lot like MK. Now if they re did the graphics with digitized actors... I would play the shit out of MK4! The potential is definitely there (I mean, it's already a pretty solid game). The looks just heavily turn me off. (Am I alone on this?)

I just noticed in the first video how scorpion is side stepping subs iceballs.
thats actually an amazing concept without making the game 3d.
just like how smash has side step

What they could do with digitized graphics today could be mind blowing. Imagine the characters almost looking like CGI ?

They could add enough plasma effects to keep it looking modern.

For me personally I liked the digitized actors back then, but I think HD digitized actors look weird, like some serious uncanny valley shit.

Even all the cool fan projects never look right to me.

I vastly prefer 3D modeling. It just a shame NRS sucks at making good looking models.

They should go out of left field and do something crazy, like a old style 2D mk game with hand drawn 2D sprites.

The arcade version of MK4 has aged way better then all those ps2 games visually.

Also it's a 1000 times more fun to play.

I loved MK 4 as a kid just because of the newer characters introduced to the series. I disliked the whole 3d element but it never stopped me from playing it every day. This looks really awesome, though, and it would be cool if something like this would get released.

Fujin and Ermac for MK 11
That would be.....different. For sure lol. What I liked about MK4 is it wasn't fully 3D, nor 2D. It really was a game of it's own. I still think it's underrated though imo.

Wouldn't the game and fatalities look too realistic? If MK9 was banned in Australia, what's going to happen to a MK game with digitized graphics? The guts and other body parts are going to look like the real things, I know that movies like Saw and Hostel get a pass, not so sure that'll be the case for a video ''game''.

arcade mk4 looked hella nice. during it's time. arguably better than soul calibur 1 and tag1 (arcade versions) combined. obviously, the ports of mk4 look absolutely awful.

i personally wouldn't want to see mk4 with digitized graphics. i think it's way past it's time and resources could be used for more meaningful things...like making MK9 suck less lol.

meh, i personally want the next mk game to be 3d (if done correctly it could work and truly flesh out the characters move sets). mk4 was the first 3d mk game afterall. and i really don't want to see mk9 with new characters. NRS blew their chance with making their take on 2d fighters work imo.

just wish boon would get the right folks in their development team. like anyone from ASW and Namco ^__^

Mortal Kombat is like Samurai Shodown and The King Of Fighters, never meant to be in 3D. I'd laugh my ass off if SNKP keeps insisting on making SS in 3D

@gamemk

I get that part. I think they need to work on there presentation a lot.
I just think digitized actors look weird in HD, and not the right route they should ever take.

As for the hat thing, I always just assumed they switch the styles from chinese to japanese, since Raiden is a japanese lighting god, well his name is anyway.

Personally, looking back on things i really liked the way it played i will say that MK 4 looks a bit odd. But having replayed it recently i love it..more then the outright 3D games that came after it...even a little more so than MK9..

I just like the way the game still kept that fast paced feel of the older mk games without sacrificing game play...Hell i would much rather play Mk1-MK4 then the later ones....

But i really still dig the "go fast or go home" game-play of MK4....i guess im just weird...

Edit: Also i really like how the juggling looks and feels in the older MK games..they feel so mighty you know...other games just didn't have that same "It" factor for me back then...
