There are several timings for it, but the best way is to pause slightly after it's done, this will knock them towards the wall in any situation, giving you time to run them towards it, getting an extended juggle in the corner in most situations. It only works on about half the characters, but some are harder to get it on than others. I think Kabal for instance is easier to knock back onto the screen than off.
