Think about it, right now there's a chance that Jacqui isn't included in this game. But if we add a rivalry to her, like Sonya has with Kano, we can make sure that Jacqui always has a reason to be in a new MK game. This solves so many problems. It'll make the game more about the new generation, which is what the fans want, and it'll make Jacqui more important in a way that'll resonate with fans. So we'll have a great reason to keep her around in every new MK game, as long as Hsu Hao's kid is also in that game, which is a small price to pay to make the game more about S-F.
Coincidentally, if Hsu Hao's kid is in every MK game from now on, that's a fantastic reason to have Hsu Hao in every game from now on, too.
