How to Deselect a character from the character menu

Just putting this out there for anyone who isn't aware/new to the game:

If you select your character with 3, you cannot deselect your character and you have to back out to the main menu/use that character if online. HOWEVER, if you select your character with 1, this opens your characters customization menu, which you can back out of to select another character.

Long story short, ALWAYS use 1 when selecting a character, customization or not.

Yeah, I noticed I used 1 on accident on the wrong character, and it let me. Not with 3 though.

No problem Gamerblake Though unless someone can give me a good explanation, it doesn't make a lot of sense why Namco didn't make it possible to back out when selecting with 1

It's funny that they had select as the deselct from 3 button in Tekken 6.

Another way to avoid picking the wrong character(s) is setting your tag presets. Granted, if you mess up there you end up having the same problem as if you had selected a character with 3.

The select button has always deselected your character from Tekken 2 onwards, I don't get why they haven't patched it in by now..

My guess is that the OS for TTT2 was programmed to be more multi-platform friendly.
