Match-Up Discussion - Takeda How to deal with Flame Fist Liu Kang Pressure

I'm sure everyone knows Liu Kang's Windmill punch xx into whatever is a general problem for people, just not Takeda. After labbing for a few minutes, I've found some ways for Takeda players to get around it

To get out of this, just low poke or sweep. The fireball is a high, just poke out of it.

You won't be able to poke out of this, so an alternative is to jump over it, which is something you couldn't do with the regular fireball ended. When you jump over, you can hit a punch which will lead to a combo. What is important is that you NEED TO BE STAND BLOCKING THE WINDMILL PUNCHES for this to work. If you are blocking the windmill punches and jumping over WILL NOT WORK. The reason for that is because blocking low and blocking regularly have different properties.

The first example can be used universally for all of these. You can just armorer through the fireballs or the Dragon's Roar and get a combo off of it. This is the safer approach to stopping the pressure whether it the liu kang's enders are fireballs or the Roar.

In the second example, after the series of punches are over, there is a delay before the Dragon Roar's come out. In the time, LK will be left vulnerable and you are able to NJP which will give you a combo opportunity. Like the low fireball example, you need to be stand blocking the punches. If you aren't, you won't be able to NJP.

There's also the typical F44 xx Windmill Punch xx Ex buff that Liu Kang does to usually start off his pressure. You can poke Liu Kang after the punches and knock him out of the buff if he's still in the animation. You don't want to use Takeda's Fist Flurry to try to interrupt because Liu Kang will be safe. The only Takeda special that can knock him out of it is Double Shirai Ryu Kan.
