How many characters are we getting for DLC?

Gathering what you know about NRS' history of DLC, as well as the datamined files in the Switch version (which could be placeholders which will never be used), how many DLC characters do you think we'll end up with in MK11's total lifetime?

I'd wager 12.

One KP seems odd. And I doubt they'd do a second KP with only 3 characters. On the same note, while I'd love to see 19 DLC characters, that seems like a tall order and I'm not going to get my hopes up for such a thing.

12 seems like a reasonable and likely eventuality.

Probably 12. MK9 have 4, MKX had 8, so 12 is plausible enough to believe.
