How do you all feel about in-game community events hosted by TYM

Odd thought but the character mods will be modding the roster in blocks essentially giving each mod a 4th of the roster to be over...couldn't we host a Team Captain sort of event where that blocks mod makes a team of TYM players to compete in a best of 3 matchup sort of deal?

Sort of like I'm modding a block and I ask one of the top players for one of the character forums I mod to compete until I find someone eho will...and I do that until I have a team of top players for all the character forums I mod. Sort of like each mod holds a team draft.The Mods can play ANY of their block's roster too and we run a stream of Team RATHALOS vs TEAM KARRIED or whatever and see whose team comes out on top in a best of 3 elimination style tourney.

We can do avatar bets for the mods or sig bets or have some sort of silly thing happen to that blocks mod if their team loses and come up with prizes for the folks who won their sets. This way the TYM players compete to shame a mod and we can award not just the grand winner of a single event but a whole group of 6 players. Anyone up for this?

All interested players would register as their main character, and play only against other characters who have registered the same main character.
We then learn who the best player for every character is, and seamlessly have the best leaders and best representatives for each character emerge on the TYM.

but will shaowebb be to Green Arrow as I will be to Harley Quinn?

I like this idea. Plus if we did it we could use the resulting winners for a draft to try out that team thing I suggested with the Avatar and Sig bets for the Mods. It'd be an easy way to setup the player roster for the big event.

I hate to say it, but dont expect too many fireworks from me. I work fulltime, come home and then stay up most nights animating stuff for my indie game project, working on my portfolio, or doing freelance stuff. I'm an Animator who still hasn't landed a studio yet fresh out of college so I don't spend long periods at ANY game anymore. I actually mod while working in photoshop.

Still I will give my all and will abuse every unblockable stage hazard in existence.

ive always wanted a tourney where one person represents each character, so a 24 person tournament with each character represented. thought of this for mk, so itd be like the real mk tourney

Would I have to participate in every tournament that there is? I don't play online much, but when I do, I feel like I'd rather play with a bunch of people from these forums that I know most of them are as nice as can be, rather than a bunch of random dudes that will piss me off lol so if I don't have to be in every tournament, I'm in.....and since there's so many, you can have a Batman vs Batman Villain tournament where the king is Batman, and the challenger gets to be any of the Batman Rivals (Harley, Bane, Joker, Solomon, anybody else? lol)

I really like that Insurgency vs Regime tourney idea. I'm a fan of holding character drafts and having players be "the player" for that character in that tourney. If we did something like that maybe we could have each player pick their "home base" and have them pick what stage is their own. That way we can have home and away games or something for a character with whoever won their last set with the highest score getting home advantage and running random stage on round 1 of the tourney or something.
