Oh cool. I dont have psn just xbox live. Did you go to the south shall rise again 2 tourney at monsters arcade last weekend?I'm in the southeast area of Houston.
I've been trying to find some kind of scene or at least meet some people around here that play fighting games.
I play MK9, BB:CS, SSF4, MvC3.
PSN: thrash242
cool.. actually planet zero has a mk9 cabinet there right now... but i really dont like going there i preffer monsters arcade much coollerI haven't yet, but I might check it out.
I'm definitely planning on checking out Planet Zero soon. They don't have, but they do have BB:CS2 and SSF4 Japanese arcade cabinets.
I'll be done with school for a while soon, so I'll be playing a lot more then. I'm not any good because I have no one to play with locally, so yeah, I'd like go to some meetups or whatever.
Playing the experienced is actually a great way to learn! However, it IS always good to be able to play amongst people at your level too (and I mean noob, not, pro, etc.).I'd just like to know which gatherings here in Houston would be best for me because I don't want to waste very experienced players time if they expect decent competition.
Hi there! Well we all start out like noobs. And for meeting. Every Tuesday ppl go to monsters arcade for scrub Tuesday's. On Wednesday's it at smileys. Ppl take set ups and have casuals or sometimes tourneys. Sundays. It's weeklies at monsters. For ssf4 and other games like mvc3.make sure to check out the Houston thread over at Shoryuken.com in the southwest forum. So, I'm pretty new to fighting games in general but I know a fellow who plays semi-competitively in San Antonio where the scene is more prominent if I understand correctly. I'm really psyked to find out that there are things going on locally that I can participate in as I claw my way up from noobdom.
My xbox live ID is: Emancipadorable
- I play MVC3 with the standard xbox controller T_T
I've been looking into getting an SSFIV SE fight stick from Mad Catz and modding it Sanwa parts from LizardLick.com
Obviously, sufficient gear will help but won't make transform a scrub into a hero.
Which events/locales would be best for someone starting out from ground zero in terms of skill and experience. I look forward to learning and advancing and I am quite aware that I will likely begin this journey losing terribly - I'm cool with that.

Thanks in advance, looking forward to meeting and playing with many of you in the future!
