Hit confirming pokes?

Been needing some help with a trouble of mine that has stayed a trouble for a long time, hit confirms.

I get the gist of it, yeah, but when it comes to a real match, I just don't.

I'm going to use Bane as my example. When I land a d.1 and it hits, shouldn't I be able to tell that it hits and react accordingly? But, when I do, I've usually buffered a move in beforehand, so I haven't really confirmed on hit or block. So if I go at them with b.1 instead of going for the double punch, I get fucked.

So, how can I hit confirm something like a poke so I can react appropriately?

REO I asked you over PSN but it'd be easier for you to answer here.

Any answers would be appreciated. :)

I usually like to do the toss 2. Toss the first and see how they react, then toss another and go accordingly.

You kan't really hitconfirm from pokes, you generally have to kommit to the special after a D1.

Hit confirming is a lot harder in MK9 and Injustice as oppose to other fighters, it's harder and different. You have to commit most of the time in Injustice, but you can hit confirm some things. Such as Aquaman's b12. If it hits, go for b12~ground spike into his combo, if it's blocked, instead of ground spike, either don't do a special or do trident rush so it's safer.

Hit confirming pokes isn't easy in Injustice, since you can't really special cancel without committing in this game.

Nobody can hit confirm off one single hit unless it's a launcher like d2 but that poke is universally unsafe I think. It's not humanly possible. In most games like Street Fighter you need at least 2-3 hits to hit confirm. Usually 2-3 lows or the jump in + some short/jabs.

But in Injustice hit confirming is much harder. In this game you have to commit to a string before you even know if it's going to hit, get blocked or get avoided. Which is why this game is heavily centered around whiff punishing and reads.

To truly hit confirm in Injustice you need a special cancellable string that is either: 2 slow hits OR 3 quick hits. On block you special cancel into a safe special if you have one and on hit you go into your combo extend special.

For example Superman's f23 and Black Adam's 22 or 22b1 are good strings for hit confirming.

All those players doing d1 xx special are not hit confirming their d1. They're just buffering a safe special so it doesn't matter if it gets blocked or not. Or they're doing a tight punish.

You shouldn't have any problems hit confirming with Bane tbh. I don't know much about the character but after a quick look at his strings in practice mode I know that:

-113 is a +3 launcher string
-b112 is special cancellable and +1
-123 is a safe special cancellable launcher string (-4)
-b23 is a +5 launcher damn

So those are your hit confirms right there. If you see they are blocking you can either go into Double Punch (-5) or let the string rock and be at +1, +3, -4 or +5. If you see they get hit I assume you would go into another string or his uppercut, charge or command grab.

Injustice? hitconfirm? Don't know why the game does not allow late cancels. And d+1 isn't hitconfirmable. RYX we had a discussion 3weeks ago and you said hitconfirming is easy in injustice.

You're kinda slow, lol. Bane's strings are easy to hit confirm. Deathstroke's, Superman's Batman's, etc.

Hitconfirm into specialcancel OK!. Hitconfirm into launcher is not realy hitconfirming, it´s more like "wait and see what happens". The most chars in the game don´t have real hitconfirms, this is the reason for the 1000 lows and overheads. Try to play footsies and hitconfirm into special and we will see.

Batman: don´t need specialcancels
Superman: braindead breathloop, lol. Tells more then 1000 words about the player
Deathstroke: hitconfirm zoning and a low launcher, lol
Bane: lot of launcher strings
