Last year, my good friend Alana was nominated for an ESPY award for leading the US woman's wheelchair basketball team to win the Paralympic gold medal.
You can check her out here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alana_Nichols
Well, she didn't win, but holding up her status of bona-fide BADASS, she has since won paralympic gold TWO MORE TIMES. , she brought the US back gold medals in giant slalom and downhill alpine skiing.Last year in Vancouver, she brought the US back gold medals in giant slalom and downhill alpine skiing. She has once again been nominated and is now the only American woman to ever win gold medals in both the summer and winter games, and she is approaching a DOZEN paralympic medals.
It is once again voting time. Please help me to help her out. I may be a little biased because we grew up together, but in all reality she really deserves this! Her name is Alana Nichols and she is up, once again, for Best Female Athlete with a Disability.
