how do they run current games? You have copies of the game and all the DLC. Same deal. (If the developers are nice, they might even provide free codes for tournies to use to get full access to promote the game)

Running tournaments for any game on XB1 will bring its fair share of problems, this is only the tip of the iceberg. There are other problems which could be discussed for days

To be competitive, you need to at least have some understanding of other characters, and thus, owning all of the characters is a definite advantage. I'm going to assume that the price point to own the full original cast will be much more than buying a regular game, otherwise the F2P idea doesn't make much sense. Maybe I'm wrong and the price will be about the same. It certainly won't be less.

Before anyone mentions LoL, remember you can unlock characters for free in that game, and the top players play often enough to do exactly that. If KI3 has a similar system, I guess that's not too bad, but I don't think it'll happen since it would be a very poor business decision to let your most dedicated players play for free in such a niche market.

TLDR: Casual players will be happy, competitive players and completionists should be very sad.

I thought the same as Max the trailer made it look really stiff/clunky and not even next gen and just looked like a cheap Street Fighter but after watching the gameplay footage from the cabinet and hearing Max's words my confidence has been restored in KI .. the wait has been far far too long.. I guess i'll have to buy an Xbox One after all if it does turn out to be top notch.

I don't get why Xbox One is so expensive in EU compared to US. If the EU price was translated to US it would cost around $670 .. so unfair.

There is not a place in the universe where this is something I would consider...I may spend $20 on the eventual 360/PC version...

i played so much of this in my teens, still remember eyedols infinite combo, and cinders infinite 80 hit combo, orchids 48 hit ultra, plus her great fatality esuque, un zip her bra to display her boobs and have them collapse, great breakdown but if this game does not have the fatality type finishes, where like spinal turns them into bones from a flash of lighting, it better have them or u cant call it killer instinct, also i hope it still has the humiliations, which at the end u do kind of like a finish him and they start doing some funny dancing, and most importantly it better still have the ultimates, i used to love linking your combo towards the last bar of red meter, into an ultimate ultimate ultiame, which finishes them which your characters lets call it fatality

They said they were focused on core gameplay right now (which is smart imo) but that they would add finishers, etc. over time in accordance to what the fans want.

Sounds pretty solid to me.
