It's clear that Raven's playstyle with her ground-spike zoning tools is a very acquired taste when it comes to playstyles in fighting games. Unless she is hella broken I don't think a year from now we'll be seeing her in many top8s in majors.
I'd like to see anyone disagree with me here, but I think that's pretty safe to say.
What a reckless absurd post to make.
Opinion is opinion, but when you're opinion is something like, mm, knives are delicious, you should maybe keep it to yourself.
Exposure; 2 minutes of footage, no blocking, no lifebars, not even a hint of depth in play
Conclusion; Nobody is going to use her seriously.
How is this any different from people who take one look at MK on Youtube, then spout its trash?
Wow, chill out there buddy.... I don't know how I provoked these kinds of responses from you, but let me try to clear it up a bit better I guess.
From what I see, Raven is strongest when she is in her Demonic Trait. The thing is that in her Demonic Trait her strengths are her fast teleports and her groundspike ground demon move that you could choose where to summon like Shang Tsung's groundskulls and JackX's groundpounds.
We don't know if her force squeeze move works in this same groundspike fashion where you choose where on the field to place it, but from playing/following a ton of fighting games at a tournament level I could tell you that characters with these styles of groundspike spacing specials end up being used less than other characters because mastering this playstyle is a very acquired ability.
People who like playing her for character will still play her, sure. But after a year or something, when people end up placing Top8s at tournaments based on their playstyles, these kinds of playstyles just aren't nearly as common. Many people who want to take this game to tournaments will likely go for another playstyle instead of Raven. Just how many JackX, Shang Tsung, or Freddy mains do you see running around?
I never said she was bad or that no one will take her seriously. She is just a different kind of character that usually only character specialists play. I hope you see that you are getting defensive here for no reason.
