Geras Kombos

Pterodactyl

Plus on block.
So my go to BNB base thus far is b1,2 xx sandburst, micro dash xx f2,4 xx EX timestop.

now I have three different enders depending on the height at which they are frozen.

high up:
4 xx burst, f1,2 xx command grab(40%)

medium:
F2 xx sandburst, 1,2,2 throw (40%) this is the ideal choice for damage and the utility of building hourglasses.

low: 4 xx sandburst, f2 xx command grab (39%)

I use these three variants in pretty much all of his combos.

EDIT: recent discovered you can sneak two stops into one one combo.

you need to stop them higher in the air, then do 4 xx sand burst, 4 xx hourglass timestop, from there the normal time stop enders are the same.

Forgive me here, but what is sandburst? I assumed you meant sandstorm but it doesn’t match up w your combos.

Sandburst is his db4 move, where he explodes with sand. It works off b1, 2 because it launches them into the air, then Sandburst launches them higher

here are the combos I have been working on. It’s not finished yet, but hopefully helps someone.

Various enders
1221+3 - 201.02 + HG
f121+3 - 194.82
(air) 211+3 b - 197.15
4 db 2 - 172.00

b12 starter

b12 db4 f24 bf1ex 4 db4 f121+3 = 405.81 (1 bar same side): Note, takes practice and the right timing to get the 1+3 to hit

b12 db4 f24 bf1ex f2 db4 1221+3 = 403.94 (1 bar switch side HG): Note, had to settle for f2 db4 after bf1ex as I just could not get the 1221+3 to hit if I had done 4 db4

b12 db4 f24 bf1ex 4 db4 f2 db2/df2 = 392.33 (1 bar side choice)

f24 starter

f24 df4 1 f24 bf1ex f2 db4 1221+3 = 435.83 (1 bar switch side HG): Note, had to settle for f2 db4 after bf1ex as I just could not get the 1221+3 to hit if I had done 4 db4

f24 df4 1 f42 bf1ex db3 1221+3 = 372.69 (1 bar switch side HGx2)

f24 df4 1 f24 bf1ex 4 db4 f2 db2/df2 = 421.86 (1 bar side choice) - if db2 throws out of the corner damage is 456.85

f242 db1ex ff db4 db4 ff 1221+3 = 371.76 (1 bar side switch HG)

f242 db1ex ff db4 db4 ff f2 db2/df2 = 352.45 (1 bar side choice)

f242 db1ex ff db4 dbff 1221+3 = 328.80 (1 bar side switch HGx2)

f44 starter

f44 1 f24 db1ex f2 db4 1221+3 = 396.83 (1 bar side switch HG)

f44 1 f24 db1ex 4 db4 f2 db2/df2 = 382.86 (1 bar side choice)

f44 b12 (side switch) db4 f2 bf1ex 4 db4 f2 db2/df2 = 388.99 (1 bar side choice)

f44 b12 (side switch) db4 1221+3 (side switch) = 329.75 (meterless no side switch HG)

f44 b12 (side switch) db4 f2 db2/df2 = 312.55 (meterless side choice)

12 starter (fast punish string)

1221+3 = 201.02 (meterless)

12 bf1 (Kung Lao Teleport - air) 2 d2 j21 1221+3 = 222.06 (meterless)

Note: choosing a kameo (Kung Lao/Motaro) specifically to combo off bf1 meterlessly is not worth it. 1221+3 grants only 2% less and couldn't be simpler.

12 bf1ex b12 db4 b12 (side switch) db4 1221+3 (side switch) = 361.16 (1 bar no side switch HG)

db3 starter (inevitable snap)

No side switches here because you can choose the side at the start with db1 f. Mid-screen I dont see any reason to not end in 1221+3.

Grounded Opponent

db3 d2 b12 db4 1 ff 1221+3 = 327.20 (meterless HG)

db3 b12 db1 1 ff 1221+3 = 259.46 (meterless HGx2)

Air Opponent

db3 d2 d2 1221+3 = 212.41 (meterless HG)

db3 ff db4 db4 1221+3 = 268.70 (meterless HG)

db3 ff db4 db1 1221+3 = 212.70 (meterless HGx2)

Anti-Air 1/d1

1/d1 ff 1 ff 1221+3 = 220.42 (meterless side switch HG)

1/d1 f24 db1ex f2 db4 1221+3 = 382.22 (1 bar side switch HG)

1/d1 f24 db1ex 4 db4 4 db2/df2 = 364.01 (1 bar side choice)

The damage from standing 1 seems to exceed the damage using db4 as an anti air, however, db4 will beat out the opponents attack.

e.g. db4 f24 db1ex f2 db4 1221+3 = 355.96 (1 bar side switch HG db4 starter) Vs 382.22 (above)

Thoughts

1221+3 is the hardest hitting ender and grants an Hour Glass (HG). You should use this ender unless you dont want to switch sides or if you want to throw your opponent out of the corner using db2 for extra damage. f121+3 is the next hardest hitting ender, however, this can be hard to hit and ending with df2 is more consistent.

I feel like I'm missing something here. What is Geras' f42 and db1?

my bad, had a bugs in my text that I’ve just corrected. Thanks for pointing out - a few bugs is the common theme for MK1 right now LOL!

So I’ve been labbing this for a few hours and it’s awesome but it’s worth clarifying that all you have to do to escape is d1/duck.

The cmd grab from geras initiates the setup, the clone standing 1 hits the opponent out of the cmd grab and then the clone b12 launches for a combo.

The geras cmd grab at the start can just be ducked or poked. Then it’s up to you how to challenge the incoming b12 from the clone. You can throw, you can jump out, you can armor through, you can just block.

Pretty cool nonetheless but absolutely isn’t something that breaks the game or is unfair, it’s just a setup and your opponent has to make a read e.g. clone could just go into f44 and get a launch if the opponent tries to d1 or duck.

New to Geras and trying to get the timing down. When doing the f24 df4 1 xx 1221+3, does anyone have any good recommendations on how to get the dash in and go into the finishing string? Seems like I always end up in a f1. Also I seem to not be able to get the 1 after the df4 with consistency. Any recommendations on when I should be inputting that?

Literally just practice. The window for the 1 isnt as tight a you think, try to delay slightly. I also assume you mean you’re getting a f2, not a f1 - if so, you probably just need to slow down a little with your inputs.

I know you gotta hold down R1 but sometimes Kung Lao misses the teleport and geras does the timestop ending ....I couldn't get the timing down
Timing is VERY strict and just needs practice - not an easy one I’m afraid.

Anyone have and good combos with cyrax kameo? Can't get the timing for kung loa for the life of me, will try to revisit once I get more comfortable with him.

After any grounded snap, do f2, b12-net, two clocks jump in punch dash 122-1+3. 3 clocks in one combo.

My advice here is to do f2 then bf1 and immediately hold kameo. You have to do it extremely fast - the faster the better.

Alternatively, I have found that doing b1f1 gives you b1 into timestop and then the timing for holding kameo isn’t so fast.
