Genuine longevity concerns from someone who actually plays fighting games at a pretty high level

More ambushes means the return of Cyrax era or worse. Also it'd make the game less creative because most of them would be used to make things safe. Would be ok if they make pushblock an universal mechanic though, if it cost half a kameo so they cancel out. Maybe paralize the attacking kameo for some time if it gets pushblocked directly would be an even better mechanic.

It depends on the type of ambush. Ambushes like Goro punch, Stryker grenades, Cyrax horizontal heli, and Kano ball are designed to make unsafe moves safe. They could design different types of ambushes that fit the game better and make summons in general more rare. I'm not sure if they need to rework all the above at some point to provide something different. It may be healthier for the game as well.
